hard tummy

Would you consider the hardening of your stomach a contraction. Occasionally my stomach will get really hard all over. Sometimes I get a pain sometimes I don't. Sometimes I get pain and my stomach doesn't get hard. It isn't a constant thing but a couple of days ago it was hard most of the day, now just on and off, and it feels a little weird down there sometimes. Should I be worried or is this normal?

 

sounds like the start of braxton hicks contractions. they are usually painless, lots of pressure and the top of your uterus feels tight, like a basketball for a stomach. if you get more than 4-6 in an hour or they can be timed you should call your Dr. or L&D you will also notice you will get them more frequently if you are not getting enough water or are overextending yourself. I would have them alot when I was on my feet all the time at work.

sounds like braxton hicks. I think it is normal, but I'd check with your doctor just in case.

 

I agree. Braxton Hicks. My stomach gets so hard I could bounce quarters off it lol

Thank you everybody, I will drink more and try not to worry so much. I don't remember this feeling in my other pregnancies, but that was a long time ago.
