Hard Spots on stomach...sometimes..

Hi all, maybe you experienced moms can help me out with a question I have. I'm 21 weeks along and still have yet to feel the babies kick BUT a few times a day i feel my stomach get tighter and harder in certain spots. Sometimese higher, somtimes lower, sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right. The spot will be there for a few seconds to a minute or so and then go away. It's the strangest thing.

I'm wondering - is this one of my babies moving around/adjusting positions? Is it a BH contraction?

 

Sounds like bh contractions....your babies will feel more like you swallowed a bucket of worms

With my first pregnancy I thought it was just baby pushing too hard on my stomach, nope, it was actually bh's! Who knew?! :lol:

 

That hard spot is their little heads.

 

I'd say it was your LO's as well. They are just rocking and rolling!

 

Oh I could be wrong too but the way you describe it sounds more like a tightening than just a hard lump...or did I misread it? :lol: Love pregnancy brain!

It's kind of both... it's just a weird sensation... it doesn't hurt, just all of a sudden i feel something and when I put my hand to the spot it's hard.. and feels slightly tight I suppose..

 

Could be either one. Or both, at different times. At 20W i was in the u/s and felt that and wa like " wow, baby A just kicked or is pushing outwards " and the tech said " no, that's a BH contraction. Here, you can see it on the screen ". LOL For a while there i couldnt tell which was which, but within 2 weeks time, i could definatelly tell a BH from a baby moving or kicking. Now it's like i swallowed an octopus. :blink:

It sounds like when I've felt my babies move before. Sometimes I can tell it's part of their body (i.e. their back or head) but others I can tell it's a BH. And sometimes their movement actually causes a BH.

 

My guess would be that it's a head or a butt!

 

I had a similar experience and asked my doctor. She said it was someone's head, butt, or foot!

 

Sounds like a baby... I started feeling sensations like that around that time, and it wasn't until about 28 weeks that I could feel BH contractions. BH contractions make your entire belly hard as a rock, basically, so if you're only feeling tightness in one spot, then chances are it's one of the babies
