Hi all, Asha and Roshan turned one last week. We were out of town celebrating their birthday with family, so I'm a little late posting this. Here are before and after pics:

Our first year had a lot of ups and downs. They were born at 32 weeks and after a rollercoaster NICU ride finally came home after 6 weeks. Soon after that my MIL lost her battle with cancer, so while we had the joy of two babies, we had the sadness of her loss. We then moved to a new city where we knew no one and bought a house. This was all while juggling newborn twins. So for me it is all a big blur. I would say around 6 months they really started to thrive and develop personalities. They are so much fun to be around now, crawling, cruising, smiling, laughing. Asha loves to flirt with Sanjaya on American Idol and Roshan loves to flirt with any woman who will stop to talk to him.

Our first birthday party was with family and the party itself was nice. Unfortunately the babies were both sick with colds, ear infections and stomach bugs. Roshan spent his first birthday(not the day of the party) in the ER because of severe dehydration. My plan is to make them a couple of cakes in two weeks and recelebrate when they are feeling better.

Thanks to everyone for all of the support and advice you gave on this board. It has been a lifesaver!! I may hang out here for a couple of more months until they hit their 1 year gestational age.

That is one heck of a first year, but you made it out momma! :friends: I hope the years to come will not be as hectic. Poor little guy, I hope he is feeling better!

:birthday: Asha and Roshan!! They are so cute! I'm so sorry they had such a rough birthday with being sick and in the ER. Hopefully they will be feeling better soon to tear into those cakes!

 

A super duper HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Roshan and Asha. Sounds like you had quite a year but the fact that you all made it through in one piece speaks volumes about the kind of family you must be and the strenth that is within you all. Congrats on surviving motherhood of twins, the first year. Look forward to sharing ideas and opinions with you in 1-5 as we will be over there in a few days. It's a bitter sweet feeling isn't it? GL in the year to come.
