Wow, it’s here. I have been looking forward to this day for a while. I was teary-eyed the past couple of weeks thinking of their birthday and I just couldn’t figure out why. I’m not sad that they are growing up, I wasn’t a fan of the infant stage. As I mentioned to a few of my TS friends, maybe it is tears of accomplishment.

My girls’ life started off 37.2 weeks gestation, weighing 6.5 and 6.1 with no NICU time which was a blessing. The first few months are a blur of very sleepless nights, colic, reflux and LOTS of crying. I believe I felt better around 5 months and started to really like mommyhood around 6 months. It has been so much fun watching them grow and learn this year. They have touched my heart in so many ways and I have cried many tears of joy. My girls are such a blessing to me and I thank God everyday for giving them to me. I couldn’t imagine my life without them.

We’re having a fun but low-key day today. We’re going to give them their presents this morning and this afternoon my brother and SIL (the Godparents) will be coming over for cake.

Next weekend is the bash. We have invited over 100 people to our house for a celebration. A lot of people think I’m crazy but we talked about a big party from the beginning. DH and I jokingly say it’s a party to celebrate that WE made it.

Thanks to EVERYONE on this site. I wish I had found all of you much sooner.
