just wondering if this is worthile to get? I have 6wk old fussy babies. I already swaddle, shush, use a pacifier, swing etc- is there any other new info in there that would be useful for me?

Have you tried vibrating seats yet? I think it's a phase they go through being fussy! I thought I was going to loose my mind when my twins were 1-2 months old. It starts getting better at 3 months and gets better & better the older they get!

We used Happiest Baby on the block and it was a life saver!! It is worth every single penny. We got the DVD (who has time to read with twinfants??) and it was great! I felt like I had done everything, and nothing worked... I have read on here that some libraries may carry it, so you may want to look into that. Good Luck!

6 weeks was peak fussiness for ours. We did everything in the Happiest baby book. They just got over it eventually--but swaddling and especially swinging were key for mine. Hang in there!

That book helped me realize that I was NOT a failure as a Mom. My girls were colic screamers for the first WHOLE 4 months of their lives. That book saved my life and quite possibly theirs, too =) Worth every penny. Not TOO difficult to read. The BEST thing for us was the swaddle, white noise, and swing (side to side cradle swing) and THE BOUNCY BALL ... they loved being bounced on the ball ... I would swaddle them both and lay them both on a bed pillow side-by-side with a rolled up receiving blanket btwn them ... pick up the whole pillow so that they were belly to belly with me and their heads reclined a little and just gently bounce, bounce, bounce ... they never liked the side lying position and they wouldn't really take pacifiers until they were about 3 mos. Nursing them always worked to quiet them though ... that is why I agree with him that colic is NOT pain ... if they were in pain, I don't think that EVERY time they nursed they would be fine ... but seriously ... we called my boobs "the silencers" because that is the ONLY thing that was 100% ... when they were nursing ... I just popped 'em on all the time ... just to get some P & Q !!! The bouncy ball was a close second ... about 85% guaranteed no crying! Good luck! I KNOW it is SO hard!

we are total skeptics, and laughed SO hard when we tried the 5s's & it actually WORKED!!!
We used it around the 6 week mark as well, but arent really using that technique anymore...don't really need to luckily :)

My one girl got fussy in the evenings and had to be on her tummy on our laps. She still has most of her naps on her tummy. Yet sleeps on her back at night --- I'm thinking there is less stimulation in our bedroom. Some babies just need to be "encouraged" to sleep because they just want to take in everything. So I had to sit down with her and put her to sleep. After awhile I would put her on a pillow on my lap and then move her to the playpen when she was alseep. Now I just put her down and she sleeps. But when she was younger (up to 2 months) she needed less stimulation, quieter area, less people talking, etc.
