I just wanted to give a quick word of encouragement to all of you new twin moms. I had the best day I've had in over a year today. Started with a solid 12 hours of sleep for the LO's, and me sleeping until 8:15! First time eating avocado (success!), then DH and I took them out for lunch (with only 2 questions about them being twins!), fed them in public for the first time (success!), and eventually ended the day with our first trip to the park (they loved it!) They are sleeping soundly again for the night, and we are on our way out to the patio to enjoy the evening!

The first few weeks and months were really hard, and I didn't think I'd ever be able to go out and do normal things again. It truly does get easier, so hang in there. It's really amazing how much they change and how quickly. They are so much fun, and such a joy. I'm truly blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Thanks so much for this post. My babies and I are going through a rough patch at the moment (probably the six week growth spurt), not sleeping and crying a lot, so it is nice to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we will get through this! It gives me some hope that I can do this!

Sounds like a great day! I agree, I'm loving this time with my boys (they're 5.5 months old too).

I completely agree!!! My girls are 6 months and SOOOO much fun. They STTN, are happy, smile and laugh all the time and easy to take anywhere. The first months are so hard, especially with bad reflux and apnea monitors... It gets so much better and I couldn't imagine not having them.

Wanted to chime in...I took all 4 of mine to church on my own, and they were amazing. Usually we feed the babies, or hold them, or they sleep a bit, but they stayed awake for the whole service, and didn't have to be held once. They were just content to look at us, smile, and talk to us. It's amazing how "big" they are getting...

I couldn't agree more! All the hard work will pay off. Even on those hard days though, still find time to slow down and enjoy those babies! The time will fly by so fast. Take the time to just admire them.
