The day has arrived...Peyton has discovered there are 'things' in his diaper. Yay. I've tried putting him under his light up gym to keep his hands out of there but it doesn't seem to be working. If it wasn't so gross it really wouldn't bother me. I don't want to start the thought in his head that he should be ashamed of it because its a body part but at the same time its disgusting when I haven't wiped him yet and he gets his hands dirty. Any solutions that have worked for you guys? Or is this a change the diaper as fast as I physically can situation??

Lauren was like that too. I would sort of contort my body so an arm was up and around her belly, if that makes any sense. It kept her arms at bay until I could get her wiped. It's a challenge, for sure.

James was like that! I grabbed his hands and his feet until he gave up struggling (like a hogtie, iykwim?), then continued with the diaper change! It's one of those things you have to figure out how to control.

Sometimes giving them a toy helps! :bad:

Use your arm to keep his hands out while he's still messy - and then once he's clean, let him play around to his heart's content. That's worked pretty well with my DS, anyway. If he gets plenty of, um, exploration time, he's in less of a hurry to get at it as soon as I open the diaper.

Btw, isn't it just amazing how they can pull and pinch and tug down there without it seeming to hurt them??? It freaks me out! It hurts me just watching!

That's what I did when it was diaper changing time! It is a challenge changing them this way, but it's better then trying to get poop from underneath their nails! :bad: The other thing we did was use a toy, but watch out with that, they will try and put the toy down there too! <_<

OMG yes! James pinches pretty hard, but Sean honked James' weenie one day and I thought he was going to pop it like a zit! All James did was grin at Sean like "That's the ticket!"
