Did any of you guys notice hand swelling? I noticed for the first time just now that my fingers are swollen ever so slightly. I tried on my wedding ring for the first time in 2 months and couldn't get it on at all. I immediately took my blood pressure (120/80 when sitting to 108/66 when lying down) and dipped my urine with some dipsticks I bought (negative to trace). I hate to overreact but I am so scared of pre-e. I just went to the peri last night and he told me everything was fine, but you never know... what if it strikes suddenly?

I've heard that hand swelling is a sign of pre-E, but that doesn't mean that's what it is. How are your reflexes? If they are hightened, that's also a sign. I doesn't hurt to contact your OB office and ask about it.
Good luck, hope all is okay.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I was just commenting on how funny my hand looked all puffed up. I really don't think it is anything to worry about. Just bring it up at your next apt.

    YUP!
I never had pre-e but had excessive swelling with ALL the kids...and couldn't wear my wedding rings...
    They'll shrink back!

Luckily I haven't had any swelling issues this pregnancy but during my last pregnancy I swelled everywhere!!! I couldn't wear my wedding ring for months. I didn't have pre-eclampsia. It is probably nothing but as always....mention it to your OB if you are concerned! Good luck!

I had hand swelling with my son, no pre-e but I did develop high bp. But it had nothing to do with the swelling, some swelling is normal.

Excessive swelling, weight gain, swelling in the face are all signs that might be of concern together. It won't come on over night, if your bp was okay at the peri then I'm sure you are ok today!

Yup, my fingers got swollen too and none of my rings can fit me anymore. I didn't realise that its sooooo swollen until my wrist started to hurt and my GP attributed it to pregnancy related Carpal Tunnel. He said its cos there's too much water and swelling in my hands that caused the Carpal Tunnel. <_<
