Hand/arm cramping during 3rd trimester

Has anyone experienced hand and arm cramping during their third trimester? I've got a routine appt. booked tomorrow with my doctor so I plan on talking to him about it. But in the meantime, I just wondered if this was common among any of you? 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' has a section about it, but they mainly refer to numbness or tingling while sleeping, and I get cramping any time of day. They also talk about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome due to water retention, and I'm hoping this is what I have. I'm just paranoid because my dad had ALS (Lou Gherig's disease), and my Hormoner Coaster has me freaking out over all sorts of stuff these days...

 

Happened to me with Sam. It went away after delivery.

 

I have carpal anyway and being pg made it alot worse...it subsided after I delivered back to where it was before...

 

sounds like carpal tunnel... had it with the twins and it did go back down as well not too long after the delivery when the swelling in my body went back to normal.

 

I developed cts with the twins and for 7 or 8 weeks my hands would go numb when I was sleeping, drying my hair, putting my make up on, etc. Towards the end it got so bad that I would wake up and my hand would be "locked" into strange positions and I'd have to use my other hand to pry it open. Very odd and totally freaked me out the first time it happened! It did go away after delivery, almost immediately, but I'm just now starting to feel a little stiffness in the same hand and finger that really gave me trouble. I'm sure it will get better after delivery.
