Hair Loss

Do you still lose hair a few months after giving birth while breastfeeding, or does this happen after you finish with BF?

 

Can't speak for after weaning, but I definitely lost hair after delivery and have a nice crop of wispy gray stuff coming in around the edges.

 

Oh yeah, we used to joke that I could knit a sweater with the amount of hair I lost after the birth of the twins!

 

Mine fell out in handfulls until about 6 months. BF makes it worse (according to my dermatologist) b/c of the hormones. I was almost bald on the sides of my head! I couldn't wear a ponytail for months!

 

I started losing hair when my girls were around 5 months old. It's pretty common I hear. It's gotten better over time, just takes a while for some of it to grown back in.

I must be weird - I didn't lose any hair at all. (Too bad, because mine's really thick, I could stand to lose some!)

 

I have been losing a ton of hair lately (there was a thread in the first year forum about this topic earlier this week).

I know what you mean; my hair has always been 'too thick.' Now that I've been losing hair, I feel like it finally has some style and lays nicely (and dries faster!)

 

mine is still coming out but slower. It's a nice addition to the chia-pet look as the large batches I lost months ago are growing in. I broke down and cut it short - at least it looks like less hair now.
