My babies are 18 weeks (born 38w) and my hair is coming out big time. I know it will fall out some but WOW. I'm wonder if it is alot more because of the twins? How long did you all have hair coming out? Please let me know how it went for you all. thank you Katherine

Mine started around 3 mos pp too and ended about a month ago... but thankfully I have a lot of hair so it didn't get too thin.

Mine started falling out really bad at about 3 months pp but it has already tapered off tremenduosly and I am at 6 months pp. I haven't noticed my hair being any thinner from it though.

Mine started at 4 month pp and it comes out in handfuls.

My best friend had a son a month before me and she actually has bald spots. Hers started falling out 1 month pp.

Mine also started around 2/3 months pp and stopped around 6. It's completely normal. Mine was growing back in fiercely by the time my girls were 1.

Mine stopped around 7 months pp. I was surprised I wasn't bald!

Now I'm back to my 'normal' loss of hair, which I still think is a ton, but I've always been that way.

Mine started falling out full force at 4 months. It was crazy! It has slowed down now. Next time you're at the docs have your thyroid checked, just in case. Mine happens to be hyperactive and hair loss can be a sign of that. Of course, it's also very normal to lose heaps of hair postpartum as your hormones adjust.

I'm so glad someone brought this up! I've been losing hair in clumps for the past month or so and I thought something was wrong. I'd heard about pp hair loss but I thought it happened sooner.

I too thought it happened a lot sooner than it did, I think I didn't start losing until 4 mo pp, for some reason, I thought I'd 'escaped'...no such luck!

Yikes...how's that for a run on sentance!

Some hairloss is definitely normal. If you are concerned, your doctor may want to do a bloodtest on your thyroid to rule out any problems. Thyroid hormones are often out of whack after giving birth.

Mine also started around 3 or 4 months PP, and is still coming out by the handful. I have a lot of hair, so it's not a big deal, but it's so GROSS! All over the bathroom floor, in the hairbrush, on my clothes, etc.

ETA -- I remember this happening with my older DD, but I don't remember if it was this much or for this long....

Mine fell out like crazy and then it tapered down a bit and I still have some now almost 13 months later.

My bathroom is a mess too--but even when I wear it in a ponytail, I seem to shed everywhere. It's always all over the babies and it never fails that my husband will be the one to find my hair in his dinner. ;)
