I never knew that this would happen! My hair started falling out about 3 months after our girls were born and is still shedding currently. Did anyone else experience this? How long does it last? I think my girls are adorable with their little bald heads, but I don't want the same... I'm starting to get little bald spots on the sides of my head!

Mine is still falling out too. I find it wrapped around the boys' hands (be careful about this too!) and I have to clean my brush out about every other day!

Unfortunately, it's normal. You don't really lose alot during pregnancy and most women find their hair becomes thicker too. Then after babies are born, you basically start "shedding". Sometimes, it can be a lot, but eventually it'll stop. I went through the same thing after both of my girls. However, my hair was really thick...so I didn't mind & it was never so much that it was leaving bald spots. :(

It's completely normal! Mine fell out for about 4 months. Part of that was b/c I kept it in a pony tail most of the day and so instead of losing a little bit throughout the day, I would lose it all when I took out my ponytail. You will NOT go bald...I promise! I cut my hair shorter and it didn't stop the hair loss, just made the hair I found all over the place smaller! :)

Going through the same thing right now... have to clean my brush EVERY DAY, and my floor in my bathroom every day, too. Stinks, but I think it will eventually stop... it did with my twins, anyway.

It's normal to lose some hair after delivery. If you are concerned about it though, you might have your thyroid checked.

This is a big joke in our house. We find my hair everywhere! In the girls' diapers (while they're wearing them), in the formula can, wrapped around their fingers, bottles, in all their toys...and I wear in a ponytail all day! My DH accused me of skipping though the house sprinkling my hair around in my 'spare' time. :rotflmbo: Right, spare time, haha!

Yeah, it gets bad around 4-5 months. I'm still losing a little hair, but I don't think it's much more than normal at this point--the boys are 10.5 months old now.

Mine is falling out like crazy!(no bald spots though) I thought I was the only one who had this problem! My hair gets everywhere and I have to constantly sweep the bathroom floors! Still happening even though I gave birth 6 months ago....

Mine started falling out 4 weeks after the twins were born. They are nearly 5 months and it has just started slowing down. Thank goodness! After every shower, it looked like there was a dead animal in the bottom of my tub!

Yup, normal...but with me I had Alopecia before I was pregnant (unexplained hair loss) I even had no hair for 6yrs! When I got pregnant my hair grew back in, it was great.

I found a new doctor and we finally figured out I have gluten sensitivity...I've been gluten free for 2mths and my hair shedding is slowing down.

Not saying this is you...hair loss is normal after birth...but check with your doc to make sure no other issues are going on.
    Good luck!

I was 6 months post-partum when I started losing mine! I thought for sure I was well beyond the hair-losing stage at that point. But I was wrong. So it's been going on for 3-4 weeks, however, it has already slowed down for me.

It's hard, I remember getting my hair cut around the 3-4 month mark and my hairdresser said it was normal and deals with it all the time. BUT sorry to say that's not the worst of it!! Right now I'm going through the grow-back period which I think is much worse! You get this under layer of hair growing back and have spikey hair on the top that turns into this puff ball growing under your hair. Right now I have a three inch layer of hair sitting on top of my normal hair...not a good look :)

At 9 months postpartum, the only hair I've lost is the stuff my boys are pulling out while they're nursing.

I really hope I don't lose any because my hair was super thin before I got pregnant. Even my hairdresser called it "frog fur".

My hair started falling out a LOT around 3-4 months... it's definitely slowed down now (5 months) but for a while I noticed some thinner areas around my temples - not a good look!
