We have always used an all-in-one type shampoo/body wash for our DD, but her hair is getting long now and I was wondering if we should be using a conditioner. We've been using a No More Tangles type conditioner spray, but I was curious what everyone else uses on their DD's. I've seen regular conditioners, leave in conditioners, spray conditioners, etc. at the stores. Also, do you use one specifically for children? Thanks for your input. :)

I use a little bit of my oldest's regular conditioner on Kayci just because her hair is really fine but long so it tangles super easily. It's just regular Suave (read: cheap!) conditioner. I use about a nickel size amount and work it through the ends mostly...just a little on top. Works great! But I wouldn't use it at all if there wasn't a need to.

I use the spray leave-in no more tangles for both girls. M's hair is fine and fly-away and A's is thick and curly so its good for both. I think Johnson's makes a no more tears conditioner to go along with their shampoo- I think I saw a commercial for it awhile ago.

I use either the Suave or the Johnson's 2 - in- 1 shampoos on Meggie. And I use the no more tangles sprays on her hair. Once in a while, I will use my Neutrogena leave in conditioner on her hair.

We used to use the No more tangles conditioner, but then switched to a 2-n-1 blueberry scented shampoo/conditioner (Suave for kids, 2n1 Smoothies, I think). Saves a step, and doesn't hurt DS' hair either. I tried the Johnson's 2n1 combos but was not happy with the untangle results - it didn't offer any untangle ability that I could see.

I bought a shampoo/conditioner for the girls hair. I quit using the soap/shampoo combo. The one I got is a johnson & Johnson brand, and it's specifically for curyl hair too. It made a huge difference. I got it at Wal-mart.
JOHNSON'SĀ® NO MORE TANGLESĀ® Shampoo + Conditioner is what its called

okay, basically the 2 in 1 shampoos are moisturizing shampoos, but they leave the hair's ph out of balance. A conditioner put the hair's ph back where it should be. I've used a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on Alyssa's hair since she was about 15 months because of the knots. If your child has curly or wavy hair....comb the conditioner through with a wide tooth comb IN the bathtub , rinse and when they get out put in a leave in detangler. One that is extremely child friendly...Circle of Friends. Circle of Friends HairCare line for kidsI love this stuff and it really isn't too expensive. They smell good also. I have used some adult stuff on Alyssa, but the stuff just seems to irritate her scalp.

We use Pantene Healthy Curls conditioner because that's what I use and I like it. I started using it at around age 2, when their hair was getting long enough that it was getting really tangly. We haven't had any problems with skin sensitivity in general -- if we had, I would have looked for something hypo-allergenic (not necessarily something marketed for kids, as I think a lot of those are just regular chemicals in kid-friendly packaging).

With Amy (whose hair is fine and straight) it doesn't matter that much if we use conditioner or not, but when we forget to use it on Sarah, I can definitely tell the difference. I actually use more on her than I use on myself! (I have really short hair.)

ETA: FWIW, I actually don't use shampoo on them -- we still use Johnson's baby wash for hair & body both.

I use biolage on all my girls hair, it is what I use. I condition them every other night.
