The girls hair is starting to get longish, but I'm not ready to cut their bangs yet. I'm o.k. with using a clip of some sort, but the ones at our local Walmart all say for ages 3+. My guess is that all hair clips say that, right? So did you just use them anyway? I do have a fear that they will take them out and swallow them. Everything goes in their mouths right now.

I let the girls wear clips, but enforced a strict rule that the clip stays in their hair or they give it to mommy. I don't let them nap with them in just in case they wake up and want to play with it.

I wouldn't worry so much about them swallowing the actual clips but I'd avoid any with bits on (little jewels/beads/shapes) because there's a risk that those would be a choking hazard if they came unstuck.

I don't know if you ever shop on etsy, I really like these clips. They come in so many different designs and because the ribbon wraps all the way around the top part of the clip they don't snag in their hair.

I used the really tiny pony tail holders/rubber bands. I seem to have blanked out on the name, Ouchless, or something like that implying they won't pull the hair out. I just pulled the front and some side parts back into a little fountain. This kind they couldn't pull out, unlick clips or the soft terry pony tail holders. I still had to eventually cut bangs on Ella but Rosalie never had them -- just the difference in their hair lines.

I think I tried every hair clip out there and my girls managed to pull it out, or pull out each others. I even used the elastics and they still managed to get those out as well. I ended up just cutting their bangs because I was tired of the battle and I didn't like their hair always in their eyes! GL!! I hope your girls keep them in for you!

we use them, we also use the elastic hairbands. My girls are pretty good at keeping them in and I make a strict rule of not letting them sleep with them during naps.

I don't have girls, but after having to watch my friend have her daughter undergo surgery to remove the jagged clip that was lodged in her stomach, I would never advise anyone to use clips on young babies/todders. Her daughter was 11 months old at the time.
