We've begun a collection of the girls pony holders and barretts, but they seem to be everywhere, on the dresser, in the bathroom, in the kitchen. Is there some great hair accessory organizer that I don't know about? What do you do with all of your girls hair accessories?

I just found a little clear box at Walmart with a snap-lid for $0.77 that works great! It's big enough that even headbands will fit, yet not too tall & fits just perfectly in the drawer on our changing table. Before that, I had all the hair stuff in an old baby shoe box.....but that was constantly getting tipped over & making a mess.

My older DD has a clear plastic box with a snap lid for all of hers too.

you know those Gerber plastic stage 2 food tubs? I washed one out and the pony holders go in there. All the barrettes go in a Hard plastic ziploc box. The girls don't like hair bands, so we don't use them. I have a bunch but where did I shove them? I store the whole plastic box on top of the 5 drawer dresser, along with the de-tangler and the collection of combs. I still find stray pieces around the house, in the car, etc but at least they have an official home. I've now started a zipper make up bag in my purse to collect all the stray hair clips from the car.

I have one of the large size Cabodles from when I was young. It holds and can organize everything...until the 4yo decides to play Beauty Shop and dumps the whole container! LOL

My girls wear the big 5" ribbon bows so they don't fit easily in a box. I have a "thing" hanging on the wall by their dresser. It is a little wooden girl's head with pigtails made out of yarn with big bows at the top & bottom. I clip the bows on this. Her "shirt" is pink chenille with tulle trim - it is a pocket where I store the little ponytail holders. I bought it at the same boutique where I got most of their ribbons.

We just have a ziploc for barrettes and one for ponytail holders...very low tech here.

We use an empty wet wipe box. The kind that you push the button for where the wet wipe can come through. I open the whole top to find what I want but at the end of the day, I just hit the button and the top pops open and I can shove it in the hole.

We have a ton of hair things....I buy them compulsively!! We have two clear boxes with built in dividers that are probably 12x15in and 2 or 3in deep. I had them totally organized.....then the one with all the elastics and hair ties fell on the floor.....eek! LOL One day I'll get around to fixing it.

I love the Caboodles idea..I had one when I was younger too!!

So far we only have ponytail holders and tiny butterfly clips (which we never use -- I don't have the manual dexterity!), and we keep them in a ziploc bag next to where we keep their comb and detangler. Which happens to be on the bookshelf in the living room, because that's where we always wind up dressing them!

I keep the girls' hair accessories in a pencil box that I got at WalMart for less than a dollar. I also keep their brush in there.

I use 2 Rubbermaid desk organizers. One is a three-drawer unit, and it holds hairbands, ribbons, barrettes, and the overflow from the other holder. The "other" holder is a pencil holder. It has 2 upright holders in the back for pens & pencils --that's where we put the combs and brushes. In front, it has 3 little compartments that swing out. Those are for pony tail holders and little barrettes.

I use the Gerber plastic babyfood containers too. I usually buy barrette sets, so they get their own container (like all the butterfly clips in one, all the metal clips in another, etc.). Same with the rubber bands. For the hair ribbons that are larger, I keep those in a tupperware container. We keep all these containers in one little drawer in the bathroom.

Katherine's hair is very fine. I use a Ziploc container for her ponytails, barrettes, etc. I keep it in a drawer in the bathroom along with the brushes and combs. It works fine for us.

I have a basket that I use to house everything. Then inside the basket I have a Rubbermaid bowl for ther rubberbands, another one for clips and then I have a couple strongs of ribbon where I clip all the bows onto that just lays in the basket. :)

I use a Rubbermaid container for ours. Meghan wears elastice or barrettes, no head bands yet, so this works for us.

    That's what I do, too.
