    A day in the life...

OMG I get up this morning at 5:30 am with DD because she's a morning person apparently and the dog STINKS. I realize that she's probably had about two baths since I got pregnant: one I gave her on the back deck in the summer and one that DH gave her in desperation when she stank like today and I was way to pregnant to be washing a dog. Why is it my chore to wash the dog? I do not know.

So after getting DS up at 8 and feeding both of them, they fell asleep and off the dog and I go to the shower. Poor thing was filthy and her nails are too long. I have to clip them tonight. So it's 9:30 am and I'm exhausted from being up since well forever and then washing the dog. But wait I have errands that I have to run today that I've put off all week.

So feed the babes at 11 am, pump and get things ready to leave. Insert babies into car seats using cute little cozy things DH's aunt sent. Cannot buckle car seats with them in there. Remove screaming babies from car seats and remove cute cozy things. Reinsert screaming babies into car seats. Throw blankets over them and haul them out to the car. Drive to bank, pull into lot and DS starts screaming. Get out and cannot find his pacifier. DD is calm so I steal hers and stick it in DS's mouth. We're good. Silence. Get back in driver's seat and DD starts screaming. Drive home to get pacifier for DD. Get said pacifier for her and she's sleeping. *Sigh* Go back to bank and deposit checks.

Silence. Thank God they're sleeping. Drop mail at post office. Drop movies at blockbuster. Go to alteration shop to pick up pants for work next week. Haul both babies in, pay for alterations, haul both out and back into car while lady from alteration shop carries out my pants because she feels sorry for me. Sympathy help is gladly accepted. Go through drive thru for my lunch and head home.

Haul both babies in and pray that they sleep in their car seats so that I can eat. They don't. I cram my lunch down while they scream and I heat bottles. When I take DS out of his car seat I find the missing paci under his bottom. How the Heck??? Then I sit between them in their bouncy seats and feed them their lunch and pray that they nap after this. They don't.

And so it goes... I think I need a new back.

I sure hope that my arms and back get stronger from doing all this.

I forgot to mention that the "dog" is a 110 lb Rottie. :D Thank God I had that hernia fixed last month.

I hear you! This was my night!

6:50 P- F nurses to sleep in about 4 minutes after a bath. Into the crib- plop.

7:112- A goes to sleep with all sweetness and "I love you infinity."

8:01- L gets swaddled (I mean goes into his sleeping bag) and spends exactly 17 seconds falling asleep.

Where's M? On my back during all of this yawning, rubbing her eyes, etc.

8:02- Try to alternately nurse her to sleep and let her lie in her pnp so she can fall asleep alone. Both result in the same crying that soon turns to screaming.

9:09- My will is broken so I take her to bed with me. She nurses to sleep in 4 minutes but cannot be moved or we start the whole thing over.

9:10- Fall asleep in 4 seconds.

10:10- Replace F's pacifier after she wakes with a howl.

11:12- A needs some water and stuff for her lips.

11:58- Nurse M for 8 minutes (must be done while lying in bed. She will not tolerate sitting up.)

    12:38- Repeat 11:58

    1:57- Repeat 11:58

2:23- Both girls are awake. Don't even bother trying to nurse both lying down, even the Mongolian contortionists agree this is impossible. Sit up in bed nursing both. F has diaper failure. Change her and now both girls are wide awake.

3:42- Success! Both girls are asleep--- in my bed. Head to the couch to warm up a new spot. Brrrrr.

4:15- Not so long lived. M needs a human pacifier.

5:37- GOOD MORNING! Get up with a bright shiny smile to start a lovely 4 day weekend with 4 kids who will want me to wait on them and meet their every need.
