I was going to try CIO because I am just so tired of getting up with them all night, and the night I was all geared up to do it, they finally slept through until 5am and then until 645. But now that's all gone out the window ... their days had been all screwy with being in other people's care while I worked, DH worked, his father's memorial and then the funeral, etc. Then, the other night, Con started crying, I went in and gave him his nuk, he just kept screaming, so I CIO'd for him, he bawled for like a half hour and then fell asleep, then woke up screaming again, I got him up and he had a hair wrapped around one of his toes, so of course I felt terrible, and now I wonder when they are screaming if something is wrong ... plus, we all have colds, the boys are coughing, stuffy, runny noses and sneezing and you can tell they just don't feel good, and I can't in good consience let them bawl in their cribs when I know they feel like crap.

Sigh. Maybe in a week or so when they are over their colds, we can try again.

:hug99: Sorry you're having such a tough time. There is just way too much hard stuff to deal with. Just do what you gotta do, you can always work on the sleep later. :hug99:

Same thing happened with me 2 weeks ago! I was going to start the CIO thing and then the girls came down with colds - I was too worried to let them cry if they had a fever etc. Took them to the ped as it went on for over 7 days - he put them on emoxicilian - which gives them dirreah (sp?) which is giving Carley a narley diaper rash - so now I feel I should go in and check her diaper when she cries at night. sigh* Maybe we'll be able to start CIO at the same time - some time soon!!! sleep here we come???

:hug99: I hope you all feel better soon! I would have stopped it for now too.

:hug99: Sounds like it is best to stop right now. There are too many things going on. Hope you all feel better soon. -Leighann

So sorry to hear that. Yes I would give it up for a few weeks too. With colds it is so hard for an adult to sleep let alone little guys. I am dreading our next colds now that the girls are sleeping through... something I just know is going to screw it up!! If this helps we quite giving the paci back after it is spit out the 1st time and Ashley went down without it for the 1st time last night and never even peeped until 8am today. So giving up the Nuk might help. (she still gets hers in the daytime when she has the fussies)

Sigh...i've been wondering how it was going w/you all. that IS way too much to deal with but the good news is eventually the colds will be cured and - who knows, perhaps they'll be back to sleeping through the night!
