We had our twins Wednesday 9/26 when I was 26 weeks exactly. I woke up having contractions at 4:00a.m. and called the nurse around 4:40 and told them about them since they weren't going away. They started the monitors and watched, but the contraction monitor must have been too high on my belly because they were not picking them up. They examined me and visually I was closed. They then stopped the monitors and gave me a shot of morphine that did nothing to help the pain. they then had a nurse come in and sit with me and by 9 am they had me calling my husband since I was ruptured (2 weeks for A and 4 days for B ) for so long, they were afraid I had an infection and that was why I went into labor so they then moved me to labor & delivery and hooked me up to the monitors there and did an ultrasound to make sure Baby A was still breech. Sure enough, she was so they gave me terb to slow the contractions and started making arrangements for a c section. My daughter was born at 11:25 a.m. and weighed 1lb3.5oz and 12 inches long. Her name is Kathy Sue. My son was born screaming at 11:26 a.m. and weighed 1lb12oz and 13 inches long. His name is Kobe Ronel. They are tiny and doing well, as they have all warned me that this is the "honeymoon" stage. I know we have a long road ahead of us, but I just pray they continue to do well and have no other issues. They did say that Kathy's placenta was detaching around the edges and that is where my bleeding came from that whole time.
So far they are both on ventilators but they are talking about switching Kobe to Cpap as soon as Friday. Kathy is on dopamine for her blood pressure and is having a little harder time with her blood gas levels. She was also knicked by the scapel on the shoulder but is stiched up well by the plastic surgeon. They are both fighters!! I have never posted pics, but here goes...

congratulations... I pray that your little ones would be healthy and strong..that they would grow quickly and come home quickly. Sounds like you have a long road ahead of you. I'm pretty sure I shared this story with you before...but my friend had her 25weeker in January...she was home in an amazing 9weeks...so good things can happen even at that early...keep that hope there.

Kristen, first off congrats on your babies! I am sorry they were born so early. But you are so right they are little fighters. Mine were born a bit earlier, well Emilie see siggy, and I learned that the smallest babies are the biggest fighters!! Now at almost 20 months my two have absolutely no issues relating to them being premature, so there is so much hope. It is amazing what can be done for these little babies. Please visit the NICU forum for any questions you have or if you just need support, we have all been there. And feel free to PM me at anytime, I have been where you are now. Please keep us posted. :hug99:

My two were only in the NICU for 8 weeks.

Oh and your links did not work, try posting them again, or you can PM me the link if you want and I can post it for you.

ETA: Your babies are beautiful!!
