Had my "big" ultrasound today!

So i had my nice long ultrasound today and apparently we're joining the blue team! 2 very proud little boys! They both are weighing in at approx 11 oz each (not exactly tiny lil guys) and have HB of 136 & 140. Our DD informed us that she is now moving down to gramma's house because there will be too many boys. Our DS was excited of course! We're thinking of maybe James & Jonathon for names.

There was a lil bit of nervous news on our part as baby a has little cysts on his brain (i cant remember the term she gave it). She said its not uncommon and they usually go away by week 28, but they will keep an eye on it. She said that they can be markers for down syndrome or trisomy, but as every other organ & bit of his body looked perfect, the chances of it being something like that are very slim. She offered to do an amniocentesis but said she doesn't think its necessary and is in no way concerned. So we're just going to keep praying he continues to grow well and i trust my dr.

My cervix is 4.3cm, which is nice. Today is my last day of work though due to the problems i'm having from my surgery a few months ago, so i'm going to start going to a physical therapist to help that out hopefully. I go in again on the 30th to check in on em again.

Choroid Plexus Cysts, maybe? My good friend's baby boy had those at 20 weeks and when they went for a follow-up u/s at 24 weeks they were completely gone. She had a very healthy baby boy in February! I've heard of a number of people whose babies have had CPCs around 16-20 weeks and by the time they have the follow-up u/s all of them are gone. Try not to worry about it, I know easier said than done. :hug:

And as for the cysts, I too had a friend who's baby girl had them and they went away before the next ultrasound. So, try not to worry too much :hug:

My two had CPC's (cysts on the brain) and they are both fine today. :hug: Please try not to worry yourself too much with it. My doctor told us that with todays' technology they are seeing many more babies with them then before. We saw the cyst's at 17 weeks and from there on, they started to shrink. :good: I know that even after hearing this from my doctor, I still freaked out. Don't google anything, it will not help you out. :hug: Your boys will be fine!

Thanks guys! We're pretty excited! Glad to hear those of you that had CPCs turned out ok, that's reassuring. Now time to pick out fabric for crib sets! :bubble:

 

Congrats on boys! DD1 had cysts also (10 years ago so we had to do genetic counseling then) and is one of the smartest kids in her class!

My neice also had cysts, and had no problems (and is probably the smartest person in the family :lol: )

Congratulations and welcome to the blue team!! I love what your dd said- so cute! She will be outnumbered, but she'll have so many brothers to watch our for her! Both of my sister's girls had CPC's and they are fine, crazy 2 1/2 year olds. Glad they're monitoring you but it is pretty common! Congrats again!

Congratulations on the two little or not so little guys. It sounds like they are doing well and I love those names. Your dd is too funny!!!!!

My best friend was told that her baby had a brain tumor when she had her u/s done. They saw a huge cyst which they said was probably cancer or something else equally horrible. She was devastated. When she went back for a follow up it was gone and the technician told her that they often see this as the brain is changing and developing. I think you are wise to wait and see, amnio's are so risky. JMO. GL.
