Well...Bella Grace made her appearance on November 19th,weighing 7lbs 8.5oz and was 20.5 inches long.

We went in for an induction(we did an induction because my doc was going to be gone and I was uncomfortable with having another doc for a VBAC attempt) to try for a VBAC. All went well, dilating, contracting, etc. I had a bit of a block on my left side so when I was near 10 cm, the left side of my body was not getting any relief from the epidural. That was not fun.

Anyway...got to 10cm after 5.5 hours and we prepared to push. Pushed and pushed for 3.5 hours. No baby. She was not posterior nor was she quite sunny-side up(kind of in the middle) but she was being very difficult. She also was balled up on my left side (remember the block) and delivering her was becoming a bit difficult. They tried to manually move her more to the middle to ease delivery (meaning I became a crazy woman when two nurses tried to push and pull on my belly...so much so I became THAT woman that cannot control her language during labor). AFter three attempts at that, my doc made the call for the c-section because baby's head was essentially stuck and she was just barely too high to use the vacuum.

After much crying and being upset, they prepped me for the section which took a long time because I wasn't going numb on the left very well. Of course after all that, my blood pressure started plummeting, which they thought was from the epidural. Apparently, upon opening me up, it was from a combination of the epidural and a small tear in my uterine artery, sustained during some point in my labor.

Doc got Bella out and I told DH to go with her to the next room...she was beautiful with a head full of black hair! After he left, my doc told me that I was bleeding more than he liked but that he would get it under control. DH was sent off with Bella and then waited for me in recovery. I knew it took a long time to stitch me up and apparently DH told me he was freaking out because I was back there so long(about 2 hours after Bella was born). All is fixed now and my very thin uterus was also stitched back together. I managed to avoid a blood transfusion although it was threatened for the two days I was in the hospital.

Anyway...sorry so long. We are home and doing well. She's latching fairly well and has gained back up to her birth weight. Just wanted to share. I'll post pics as soon as I get some downloaded but I think I'll get one on my ticker!

Thanks for making it through this very long post!!!
