I just wanted to let everyone know that I had Ryan and Jenna on the 9th at 33 weeks exactly.

Wednesday morning I woke up with contractions, but I thought they were just BH since I had been having those a lot. At about 7 that night they were even more frequent, so we headed to the hospital, and by the time I got there my contractions were 2 minutes apart and I was dilated 2-3cm. They put me on magnesium sulfate, and I was on that until 6:00 Thursday evening. I was really really sick, so they checked my mag levels and I had toxic levels, and I had also dilated to 4-5cm. So off to a c-section we went. Ryan was born at 6:10 weighing 3lb 15oz, and Jenna was born at 6:12 weighing 3lb 13oz. Ryan had a rough start, his Apgars were 1/8. Jenna's were 8/8. They were both ventilated for a couple of days, but now Jenna is breathing room air and Ryan is of his ventilator but still on oxygen. They both have feeding tubes to help them eat, but they are doing pretty good. They are both weighing 3lb 9oz now, and we expect them to bein the NICU for about 2 weeks. They still have toxic mag levels from labor, but hopefully that will change in the nexy couple of days.

I came home today, and it was hard to leave them. I'm so tired, after laboring for 30 hours with no pain meds and then finally having a c-section. The nurse took my staples out today, and there were 33 staples!!!! Anyway, sorry for rambling. I will post pics soon. It's nice to not be pregnant, but I wish I had my babies with me!

Congrats on your babies. Mine were born at 32 weeks so I know exactly how you feel about leaving them and coming home. I was also on the Mag and it was dreadful. If you havent already checked out the NICU forum do so when you get a chance. It is a great place to ask questions to all who have been down the exact same road. Congrats again and they will be home before you know it.

Congratulations on your babies!! I know how hard it is to come home without your babies. :( It was one of the most difficult things I ever had to do. They will be home with you soon though. Hang in there.

Mine were also 33 weekers and I too had the mag sulfate...UGH that wasn't fun! I too had to leave them in the NICU (1 1/2 hours away from home) It was such an emotional roller coaster having to leave them and go home that far of a drive almost everyday... They didn't need much assitance in the NICU, only the suck, swallow, breath thing to graduate from. My son (3lbs 13oz) was there 13 days and my daughter (4lbs 1oz)17 days and that was the hardest part I think, having to leave her there, we didn't plan on that happening, but she had a self-resolving spell the day before she was due to come home and had to spend another 5 days there to make sure she was fine. Fortunately she was and came home shortly after. Enjoy your recovery and sleep, sleep, sleep they will be home before you know it! Remember they are in good hands and you can call 24/7 to check on them, god knows I called ALL the time being that far away from them and the RN'S were wonderful! Congrats to you and your family!
