Had my amnio today

I went this morning for my amnio. My Intended Mother went with me, so it was nice to have a chance to see her!

The amnio wasn't too bad, really. I wasn't nervous at all about it, which kind of surprised me, lol. I had to be poked three times though (oh, what fun) and they didn't bother with an anesthetic. They got the fluid around baby B first, but had to poke me twice for baby A (only poked the sac once though. the first time the sac was resisting the needle, so she had to find a different spot). Each time the needle went in, it felt kind of like when you get a "not-well-placed" shot in the butt - you know, where you can feel the needle and some crampiness from it. And I needed to get a Rhogam shot as well, so I got poked 4 times today, lol. Just having a bit of crampiness now and then, but it's really nothing.

We tried to see what the genders of the babies were, but both were in the breech position with cord between their legs, so neither one would tell us!!! We will get the results in 2 - 3 weeks, and we have the big ultrasound on June 2, so sometime in the next few weeks we will know what they are!

Glad it went well! I give you a lot of credit. I think I would have fainted or been too tense with seeing a large needle coming at me! :hug: Glad the intended mom was able to be there.

You are much stronger than I am! That's fantastic everything went well! Keep us updated how things go and I can't wait to hear genders!

My biggest fear isn't even the C-section, it's the amino! I'm absolutely terrified of needles!

 

Lol, well, I didn't LOOK at the needle!!!
