I had some spotting sunday evening so the midwife got me in today for a scan. They first tried with a regular scan but only got a quick glimpse then it went fuzzy. So we ended up doing an internal scan. She found the baby right away along with a wonderful heartbeat! Then did a quick measurement and I'm right on 7 weeks. I asked her if there could be another one hiding and she said it is possible since I'm still real early. I go back in 4 weeks for another scan.

Has anyone heard of only seeing one this early then going back and having a surprise?? Be honest....just tell me NO.

I have heard of it.. and my sister is 9 weeks Preg.. and they have only found one so far - she had her first scan last week. but shes barely fitting in any of her clothes. But theres twins on her side (us, obviously) and twins on her husbands side - his dad has a twin brother and sister. So it will be interesting to see. So when you think about theres identical and fraternal twins in the family.. :)

I think we are about the same # of weeks. I think my due date is between Aug 13-Aug16. I am SOOO sick, it is horrible, never had this issue with the twins. I am keeping all food down but gagging quite a bit. Bagel and cream cheese i've been living off of (but still managing to gain weight!)

Congrats on your scan.. doc only sees 1 as well, but I keep wondering as i feel so bad. I am still adjusting to the fact another baby is coming? How about you, were you very surprised or was this little one very well planned? Congrats on the good ultrasound news!

I am in complete shock with this pregnancy. We were NOT having more children.Lol. This is number 6 for us.We also have a 14 yr old dd and 12 yr old ds.I was "done" after the twins. And then came Chloe , whom I was on the pill with.I've given up on birth controls. My tubes are getting tied after this one. My due date is August 12,so far.It might change after next scan. My twinks turn 3 on the 10th, so it wil be a busy time.
I'm sick with this one but it is scattered.Sometimes in the morning but mostly at night and alot after I eat. I've been really sick when its a girl so I'm thinking a boy this time.

Well, it happened to my friend, but she was earlier on at only 5-6 weeks. THey were ID twins. My mono-di twins were quite obvious at 7 weeks.

Yay for a healthy heartbeat! With the twins, I had a quick u/s at 7 weeks for dating, and another at 11 weeks for heartbeat, and only one baby was seen both times. We found out at 21 weeks it was twins. :shok:

    Becky,

Did you ask the ultrasound tech or doctor to check around for twins? I mentioned this a few times, so I really hope it isn't a possibility, I guess unless they were id in the same sac and that would be very rare I think.. I'll see again on Monday. I had a dream last night baby didn't make it.. it was so sad.. these vivid dreams are scary! I hope it was just a bad dream.
