Gwen and Caroline are here!

Gwendolyn Sarah and Caroline Antonia arrived on December the 23rd at 4:15 am and then 4:20 am! It all went really smoothly for them coming at 34 weeks. Labor was *exactly* 12 hours. (Funnily enough, I'd been admitted to be observed for 24 hours for protein in my urine, and was 10 minutes away from being discharged and sent home, and I thought....."Oooo, that hurt. Wait, that REALLY hurt!" and we were off to the races!)

We managed to completely avoid the special care/NICU, although we were in the hospital for a week with feeding tubes, and on the jaundice beds. We turned the corner yesterday-they are nursing GREAT and the jaundice has gone away. We all got home last night, late in the evening. I'm feeling great (like nothing even happened!) and I credit that to having no drugs whatsoever this time, except for a little gas and air. Caroline was breech, but the Doctor did a wonderful job of twiddling her about, and delivering her normally, without even having to try and turn her. The pathology on the placenta tells us that it was TWO fused placentas, not one, so they were NOT mono/di like we thought!) Weights were 5lb 12 and 5lb 2!

Steffen was amazing,as I knew he'd be, and we couldn't be happier. Once I've got my Sh*t Together, I'll get some pics up, but rest assured they are GORGEOUS!!!! First year, here we come!
