guess who is on bedrest...

I am!!!

So last Wednesday I was having terrible headaches, went to the doc on thursday and my bp was fine, no protein in my urine, she just attributed it to "stress" and told me to get some sleep.... <_<

Well, Tuesday it seemed like it was getting worse and by 5pm I realised that I hadn't given my child a meal since 9a. She brought me pb&j, but nothing real. I called the doc and she said that since I had been suffering for so long to go to the hospital to see if anything was going on. She said they might do a CT scan cause it could be something else.

Get to the hospital and my BP was high...like 189/90. Had some protein in my urine, and they say that they are going to keep me for a day...no problem...I'll spend the night, go home, get in bed. Maybe I need the break.

All through the night they couldn't get my headache to go away or my bp to go down...I had 2 doses of morphine then they switched to florvient(sp), nothing was working...I was on my left side all night they put the little compression cuffs on my legs, and checked my bp every 2 hours...they were more worried about me stroking out than anythings else...they did an ultrasound and both girls are good! Have always been...it's just the momma...

Wednesday they do the CT scan to see if anything was going on...nope, nothing
I see my MFM and my OB they want to keep me another night...no prob, figure out what is going on and then I'll go home...

Well while I was sleeping, my BP went up again, I had no idea until the thursday morning because I was sleeping, and Dirty Harry :lol: (Dr. Harry, really nice guy) decides that he wants me to stay a week! I didn't like it, but ok...

So this morning as I was watching the Today Show the nurse comes in and ask if I have a headache, nope, havn't had one since 4am, my BP was up again...this time my bottom number was close to 100! My OB comes in and I tell her to keep it real with me, am I going to see the light of day...she says nope, I'm here until I deliver or 34 weeks, which ever comes 1st. <_<

So lets just say that I'm not the happiest camper. I've had good moments where I'm handling it like a trooper, then I'll be honest, I've broken down and cried quite a few times. I sat up out of the be for an hour today and my BP didn't go up. then I got a free pass to roam the hospital! :lol: There is a PC in my room, but it's onthe blitz, I tried getting to the "loner laptop" lady, but she hasn't answered, but happened to be sitting in the lobby and seen this pc that wasn't being used.

I spoke to the neonatologist, told her it was nice to meet her, but I didn't want to see her again until at least June 1st

But I just wanted to let everyone know that I am good, right now I'm in good spirits, but we all know how pregnancy hormones can be!
I only have 10 weeks and 5 days before they let me go.

Ladies...listen to your bodies!!!

I have 5 minutes to get back upstairs so that they can take my BP (I'm on a every 4 hr schedule today, tomorrow may be diffrent)

WOW, take care of yourself while you are in the hospital. I am glad that you called your Dr and went to the hospital.

I had a very similar situation. I emailed my Dr about a headache I had for 6 days and I was starting to swell. I went in the Dr, my BP was normal and trace protein in my urine. Later that night I was having contractions 4 minutes apart and landed in the hospital. I had a shot of terbutaline and responded nicely. I was able to sent home and taken off work. It has been 3 weeks and I feel better, but my swelling has returned and it is not going down.

Monday back to the Dr. and I hope I am not put on bedrest, even though I am on the couch for most of the day.

Anyways, keep up the great work Momma....you can do it!

Wow, scary! You are in the best place though. I know hospital bedrest is hard, hugs to you :hug:

 

Dora, I'm so sorry you are on bedrest. but if that's what it takes to keep you and your babies safe, then you can do it momma. :hug: :hug:

 

Dora, I am sorry to hear this. :hug: Hang in there, I know bedrest is thought, BTDT. But you are doing the best thing for your babies right now. :hug:
