So it started perhaps a month ago with just a few zits here and there on my back and a couple on my chest but its gotten steadily worse and I hate it! I've been washing with Dove body wash but I'm wondering if I should use something a but stronger. I've never really had this problem before even when I was pregnant with my son. I live in the desert heat where its dry and we hit 101 today, on top of that our AC isn't working too great so I like to wear halter tops and tanks but I'm getting a little self concious. My dh keeps picking at them when I do the dishes to make matters worse!

Am I the only one going through this?
    Any sugestions?
Should I ask my OB to refer me to a dermatologist?

Between having such a hard time shaving my legs and being so uncomfortable and undone and now having my back and chest all broken out I feel like a gross monster. This is driving me crazy!

Sorry I have to get this off my chest (so to speak)

No way, dear, you aren't the only one. I totally feel your pain except my breakouts are on my face. I can't cover them up, but I understand that you can't really do so either since it is so hot. I have already tried Proactive, and now I'm using the new nuetrogena 3 step process and none of it is working. I've been using the neutrogena for about 3 weeks and see NO results. My skin was so pretty with my other two pregnancies but I was soooo sick with nausea and heartburn. Now it's totally switched. I feel great, but I look like hell. I've tried changing my pillowcase every day, keeping my hair up all the time, and letting my skin rest from make-up. I'm on vacation right now (practicing the Stay-at-Home mom thing) so I can get away with it for the next few days, but when I go back to work, I will have to cover this up for society's sake! Let me know if you find anything helpful. Great idea for a post! Sorry I couldn't offer any suggestions, just more complaints...

Does the zits itch? I know it sounds funny, but I have zits like rashes all over my body (and face too!!) but those on my body itch like hell!! I'm like a chimpanzee scratching away the entire day!! Doc said its due to hormonal changes, am I alone here?

As far as make-up I've found that Bare Essentials (sp?) works pretty nicely as that the more I use it the better my face gets as far as redness. Plus if you get the starter kit it comes with a brush to use as a conceler. I sound like the tv ads lol. Really though I bought the stuff a year ago and just started getting into the foundation and think that it really was worth the $60 I spent, and I NEVER splurge on myself! Its lasted me a pretty long time. Plus you can put it on pretty fast once you get the hang of it.

Sorry to hear I'm not the only one. The zits on my shoulders kinda itch and so do the ones high on my forehead.

I've also noticed that I've been losing a lot of hair in the shower and when I brush. DH is balding and says now I know how he feels, lol! Somehow I don't remember all these stupid hormonal changes so much with my son. *sigh*

    Hey Kimani!

Be careful about going 'stronger' as it might cause further irritation. If anything, I'd go gentler ... and natural. My face is fine but my shoulders and chest started breaking out and I tried using a St Ives exfoliator which just made things worse! I'm now using a cleansing cream/exfoliating paste by Collective Wellbeing with oats and raspberries; it smells gorgeous and is really calming things down (I get it from my local Whole Foods and put a link below). If I get a worst offender, I'll put a dab of TCP on it before bed (an English antiseptic liquid - okay, NOT exactly natural, lol, but a tiny dab on the isolated area really zaps it! I'm sure there's an American equivalent?)

    Good luck!

This happened to me also. I had never had a breakout anywhere on my body (besides my face!) and I was pretty much disgusted with myself. Thankfully for me it was winter time.

The good news is, it goes away!! By say 30 weeks it was cleared up for me and hasn't been back.

    Hang in there!

Isn't there some acne medication you should use ... Benzole Peroxide or something ?? I remember being very careful with what I put on my skin. Sorry about your body being so mean to you. Those two little babies will make you forget all about this I swear.

Oh, you poor thing! When I was 22 weeks, I got a yeast infection that wouldn't go away. Then, to make matters worse, I broke out in hives on my arms, chest and neck! They looked like pimples, horrible ones, and itched like poison ivy! I wanted to die, and wouldn't leave the house  . Calmine lotion, and ice packs were the only things that brought any relief. I called my Dr. and he gave me safe meds for the yeast infection and as soon as that cleared the hives sloowwwly went away. But my face is still constantly oily and broken out! Bare Minerals is the best thing I have found for covering and soothing the break outs. Hormones are NOT our friends. ;)
