I'm seriously getting so sick of the poop stories that I have. Please tell me I'm not the only one!

My boys have this thing with sticking their hand in their diaper right after they poop - they don't like the feeling and are trying to take it out  Usually I can get to them on time, but sometimes I'll be changing one and then the other....you know...

So this morning, I smelled poop and went to Connor - sure enough he had. So I started to change him - then realized he pulled his "thingy" out of his diaper and had peed on his shirt as well. So anyways, I changed him and then all of a sudden Caleb came over to me naked. (When I started changing Connor, he was fully clothed) so I turned him around while I was still changing Connor and noticed that he pooped to and of course it's all over his butt and leg. I told him to stand there and not move, which he did at first. Then he sat down

So not only did I now have to clean him up, I have a big poop spot on my carpet

    Like seriously???

These boys need to potty train already!! If they don't like peeing/pooping in their diapers there's an alternative called THE POTTY. Why won't they use it?????????

    Ok, vent over

I've done a bit but people I've told have said they aren't ready, but maybe they are?

I tried one day putting them on the potty every 15 minutes and no matter how I timed it, they always seemed to go inbetween.

Another day we tried underwear and they just didn't notice and went pee anyways (wouldn't poop)

They'll sit on their potty for a while as long as there is a show on tv. They know when they have to go, a few times I've caught Connor watching himself while he's peeing. I've pretty much tried it 2 full days on seperate occasions and just got so frustrated because they didn't get it - and like I said I've been told that just means they aren't ready.

If they don't get it the first or second day, but I keep at it - how long do you think until they get it?? (If they really *are* ready)

Welcome to the age of potty training! :sign0016:

They may not be "ready" yet but they're getting there. I've gone through many of the same things with our kids. We have started naked time (to avoid hands in diapers)since the weather is warm but there are accidents all the time. We have good days and bad days. You are not alone! Yes, we have the same poopie issues. Aidan had his diaper off the other day and pooped while standing playing with a puzzle. Yuck! All over the floor and his leg. I guess I'll never know if they can't feel it coming or if it is intentional (in a toddler sense of not realizing that it would be a mess/problem). Amanda peed all over the floor last night and giggled about it. When asked why she didn't go to the potty, she had no response. I made her help me clean it up to realize it was yucky and she thought it was fun to clean. Maybe they're not ready and maybe this is all part of the process. In any event, this too is a stage that will pass. I hope you're able to clean your carpet but I'm guessing that there are probably a few more messes in the future.

    Isn't potty training fun?
