I had my growth ultrasound today and everything looks good with both babies. I was a little concerned about the weight difference between the babies but they said that it was fine. They said baby A weighed 4lbs 2oz and baby B weighed 4lbs 11oz. I am wondering if they measured baby A wrong because they said that her head is really low in my pelvis and that they did have a little difficult time. Anyway, I can't wait to meet my little girls.

great weights...my little one, this time around, measured 4lbs at 30 weeks...YIKES!! :icon_eek: they do get much more inaccurate after you pass 34 weeks or so...at least that's what the u/s tech told me when I was pg with the twins!

I wouldn't worry about the weight difference. My u/s tech told me that they don't begin to worry until there is about a pound difference. I've also read that unless the difference is more than 20%, there's no need to worry. As long as your doctors aren't concerned, I wouldn't be either. I would think the the difficulty in them being able to measure them could play a role too. Congrats on the great weights!

It is very possible that their weights are off. Mine were both head down, and towards the end they always had a hard time getting acurate measurements of their heads which is a big part of determining weights. Mine were pretty far apart at my last u/s and were born only 4oz apart.

Remember it's just an estimation at this point. IN saying that though my two always had a 1lb to 1.5lb difference at every u/s that I had. My OB wasn't concerned because they were both growing from u/s to u/s. They would become concerned if they weren't growing from appt to appt. Anyways, at birth there ended up being a 2.5lb weight difference between my two. DS was 7.10lbs (he was estimated to be 6.8lbs at my 37 week checkup) and DD was 5.3lbs (she was estimated to be 5.7lbs at my 37 week check up). So as you can see with one they were off by a pound but the other was almost right on...just 4ozs smaller!

I have another post on the board about possible IUGR, my post mirrors your own. The advice i got has helped calm my fears a bit but we are very similar, baby A is 4 lbs and baby b 4 lb 10 ounces. Just rest, keep eating and hydrating.
