Had a growth ultrasound today (at 24 wks. 3 days). Lil' girl A weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. and Lil' girl B weighs 1 lb. 11 oz. Fluids look fine. The doctors say they are still concordant, and I know an ounce different can be normal at this point. I also know it would be really rare for them to measure EXACTLY the same the whole pregnancy. [IMG] For other mono/di moms, how much have your babies usually differed in weight? Just curious...not worried about their weights at this point.

Question about cervical lenghth: Two weeks ago my cervix was 6.2 (very long, I know). Now it's 4.2. Is it normal to have such a drop in two weeks? I know some people don't even have their cervix length checked until this point. What are other people's experiences at this point in their pregnancy? Can't help but worry a little, but I know that's still a normal measurement.

at 24 weeks, my cervix was 4.2 cm, as well, and my dr. was pleased at that measurement. i also believe that the babies weights were 1 lb. 8 oz. each.

At 26 wks my cervical length was 3 and 1/2 and my doc thought that was good for even a single pg. It was 2 I think by 28 and I had began to funnel. It caused enough concern that he mentioned it and told me to slow down a little. At 30 this week there had been no change. I think 2 cm change is fairly norm for a 2 week period.

4.2 is great for 24 weeks!!! Mine measured 2.9 at 24 weeks, which was a little too short for my doc's liking.

at 19 weeks mine were an ounce apart, last US at almost 23 weeks they were only 20 gm appart...as far as cervical length I think you are doing great. I was 6+ and last appt was was 5.2 dr says anything above 3.2 is wonderful. Keep up the great work. [IMG]

Mine have been about 2 ounces apart at every US we've had. We have another on tues so I'll let you know, but everytime the doc says they are doing just fine and that is totally normal.
    HAng in there!

Mine were an ounce apart at every growth u/s we had (one a month) and didn't change to 5oz until right before birth - strangely enough it was the smaller one who was the recipiant twin, and the larger one who was the donor :O

My cervix was at 2.6 at 24 weeks - and I was in trouble - before that I had been 3.5 - which my dr. said was above average for most. Around 2.5 is when they start talking permanent and/or hospital bedrest. Cervical length can change depending on how active you are - so unless you start dropping into the twos - I wouldn't worry about it at all!

First of all congrats on the great u/s i'm sure that was a huge relief. I am 23 weeks 5 days and I had an u/s today. My boys are also mono/di and one was 1 lb 7oz and the other 1 lb 9oz. They are usually an ounce or two apart. Also I think the exact same thing happened with my cervix. Mine measured 4.3cm today and it was 5 something last time. My peri said it looked like it was holding its own. Good Luck

Remember that ultrasound measurements aren't "exact". Depending upon the tech/dr and where they click. So try not to stress. The impt thing is growth RATES- That they both continue to grow at similar rates. Even if one is slightly smaller.
