So I had my growth scan done today and everything looks ok, but baby b has much less amniotic fluid than a. The u/s was done at my peri's office. I have an appt. with my OB in the morning. I'm curious to see what she has to say about it. Baby A weighs 3.9, and baby B weighs 4.2lbs. Anyone else have a fluid issue too? I'm not sure what to expect. I'm just going to drink plenty of water and continue my bedrest.

I don't have any experience, just wanted to send you a :hug99: and tell you that I'm hoping for the best. Please update us tomorrow after you talk with your OB. :hug99:

No experience here either, but hopefully your OB can give you some answers tomorrow. :hug99: Keep us posted. Your plan to continue bedrest and drink plenty of water is the best thing you can do right now. :)

Thanks ladies! My husband called my OB office to inform them of the results so they can make a decision. I'm getting kinda scared!

One of mine had low (no) fluid for a while due to TTTS. I was on bedrest and boosted my protein intake and water/calorie intake. I was only 18 weeks though. It was because they were mo/di and TTTS.

Are yours mo/di? If so, then your peri/ob should be VERY concerned, PM me if this is the case, we can talk. If they are di/di, then maybe they should look to see if the cord dopplers are ok - were they growing ok? Movement and hr ok? Could they see baby b's bladder? I would stay on bedrest and drink lots of water and eat plenty of calories and focus your energy.

How low was the fluid? Both of mine had a maximum vertical pocket (MVP) of 2-3. The normal range is 2-8 or so, i think, so mine were always on the low side. As you get farther along, it's harder to measure because the baby starts to fill up the space, and there could be a big pocket if baby moves its arm or something. So, it's a good thing to keep an eye on, but not necessarily a bad thing in general.

Hopefully they'll keep an eye on you and everything will be fine!

If it's a big issue, they will be inducing you...I had low amniotic fluid with my first baby, and they got him out of there right away.

Good luck, and keep us posted!! :)

They are di/di. They have been growing well with no problems. Both Hr are ok. His movement has been decreased, but still there. I told them that at my last appt. I also told them that I felt more wet than normal is it a bladder issue, and I think the NP blew it off as a bladder issue. The u/s tech did'nt look at cord flow today. They did at 28wks and it was fine. I don't know if she looked at the bladder or not, I do remember her saying she saw the belly and kidneys. He had fluid, but she had a hard time finding pockets to measure. I saw one pocket measured 2.5, but it was clear that he had less fluid than she does.

One of mine has low fluid as well. In our case the peri mentioned a few things it could be before they figured out why.

At first they thought I was leaking fluid, possibly had rupurted the membranes , which I informed her was impossible as I am not "wet" down there.

The other was that it was a placenta issue. In our case this is what it is, our Baby A has IUGR from our TTTS laser surgery. They lasered some of the vessels she was relying on. From what I understand this can be an issue with either mono/di or di/di, ie the placenta not doing its job (obviously not the TTTS part). They explained that becasue she is not getting enough she is conserving energy by not peeing as much and she is not getting enough to pee alot. They are monitoring this very closely as this can affect the blood flows in the cord. If they become absent or stop they must tatke them out. We are having u/s every week and 3 NSTs per week to keep a very close eye on the situation.

In our case our Baby A has less than 2 cm of fluid.

I hope everything works out for you. I see you are almost 33 weeks - I AM SO JEALOUS!!
