we just had our one month appointment yesterday and got our new growth measurements...i was just curious how your twins compared at this age (1 month).

    river
    weight - 7lbs 5 ounces (5th %)
    height - 20.5" (15th %)
    head - 13 5/8" (5th %)

    alexander
    weight - 7lbs (3rd %)
    height - 20.75" (25th%)
    head - 13.75" (3rd %)

edited to add that my boys were born at 35 weeks so their adjusted age is negative 3 days old (we weren't 40 weeks until this thursday).

To be honest with you I don't remember at all how big my girls were at 1 month old! Mine were born at almost 37 weeks though, so at birth they were both about 6 pounds.

Can't remember the exact weight (somewhere around 8lbs), but my boys have always been in the 3-5% range for weight and around 10-15% for height. They still are. My boys were 36 weekers each 5.14 at birth.

At 1 month my boys weren't even on the reg. growth chart (33 weekers). They were on their own for the first 6 months. After that they graduated to the "less than 3rd percentile" section and have been there ever since! As for height, I can't remember but they have always been above 50% for that.

mine are 35 weekers too. at one month DS was a little over 8 lbs and DD was a little over 7. now DS is is the 95th% for weight at 25 lbs and DD is in the 80th% or so at 20lbs. i'm guessing your guys are going to shoot up in percentiles between now and 6 months.

my guys didn't make it onto the normal growth chart for weight and length until their 9 month wellness checkup. and they only made it on by a whisker (2%).

Mine were still in the hospital at one month, so I have no idea. I know they wouldn't have even came close to hitting anything on the growth chart. By 6 months they were in the 75-90th percentile on a regular chart!! So, they certainly catch up sooner or later!

My girls were a little over 6lbs at one month. For the longest time they were in the 10th percentile. Then, they really jumped in weight and height around 3 months. Now, they are both in the 50th percentile for height and weight.

Copied from their blog at 1 month:

"The boys had their 1 month check-up today and man have they grown! Alex is now 9lb 3oz and 20.75in long. Zach is 8lb 14oz and 20.25in long. That means they've jumped from less than the 10th percentile to over the 20th."

At 2mo they shot up to the 65th percentile for weight but continue to be in the 17th for height. We have short, chubby boys. hehe

My boys are in similar percentiles as OP...3rd - 5th for weight and 25-40% for height... they are just watching out for mommy's check book by staying small and wearing our clothes longer...

At month one everything was such a blur. The one stat that I do remember is their head size. We got some big noggins. Kelsey's held strong in the 90th percentile for head size and Maddie has always been at 75th.

Sometimes I'm kind of glad I had a c-section!! Yowza!
