Is green tea safe to drink at this point in pregnancy? I just had a 20oz bottle (made from Lipton sold cold in the soda isle)
It is the first time i have had green tea, just wanted to know if it is ok, or did i just potentially hurt my twinkies?

I drank it by the gallon when I was pregnant. The green tea to worry about is the hot dried leaf kind as it is more potent.

That is why I started buying mint tea to have hot. ;) Can I start drinking the green tea hot again after the babies come, or would I have to pump and dump?

Hey! I just wanted to say that I've heard all kinds of things about the lipton green tea but just so you know it does contain aspartame. I know this is the sweetener that we can have some of but I know that some people try to avoid it or not to have too much of it during pregnancy. Just a little bit more info for you to think about!
    SArah

I drink decaf black tea and green on occassion. Kellymom.com says:

Green tea comes from the same plant as black tea - the only difference is in the processing. Like black tea, green tea contains caffeine, so limit use if your child is unusually sensitive to caffeine. Because of its caffeine content, you may want to restrict your intake of green tea during pregnancy.

I have been told that green tea has the highest caffiene level so I think I would limit it.
