I am looking for a swing that would be good to get now for my 3 month olds. Any suggestions or favorites? How long can they use it?

We had great luck with the Fisher Price Aquarium Cradle Swing. I think they now do a Rainforest pattern.

ETA: Mine used it until about 9 months until they became too heavy for it to move.

DD still uses it occasionally. I really only use it when one wakes up way too early for a nap and I try to sneak in a few more zzz for them by putting them in it... it doesn't always work. DS really doesn't like being trapped in anything anymore.

For the type, we got two off craigslist, they're both older models, I think.

We have 2 fisher price cradle swings. Only bought 1 to begin with, but went back for a second as it was such a big hit with the boys and allowed us a few more zzz's in the morning, and even a quick undistrubed dinner for a couple of months. They even have a few that run on power not batteries, although I have to say the battery one seems to have a little more umph. It was about 3 months though that we could actually swing them front to back like a regular swing - so at that age maybe save some $ and find one that only goes front to back?

My babies LOOOVE the Starlight Papasan swing. It rocks forward, backwards, side-to-side, plays all kinds of music, has a moving mobile and the best part--it lights up at night! They love it and it never fails to soothe them both to sleep. It's my very best friend when I'm alone with both of them.

We also have the Boppy Rock 'n Comfort swing that we use for travel and it's GREAT! It folds up in the car and it's easy to transport.

Mine really liked the Graco Loving hug swing. I think it goes up to 30 pounds and the seat reclines too.

We have Fisher Price rainforest swings. They are the smaller, travel swings because we don't have a very big house and plus, we can easily take one or two to family member's houses if we plan on being gone a long time. They like it, but like their bouncer with lights and toys better.

We have the Fisher Price papasan cradle swing & the Fisher Price Rain Forest Swing. They both have their pros & cons, but I will say that we never would have made it without them! Personally I like the incline and support from a cradle swing rather than the traditional front/back swings that you can buy. We had one for our daughter so i can sat with confidence that the cradle swing is worth the extra. Our guys nap daily in thiers still and often sleep until we go to bed in them at night (from about 7-12). My guys are big too the "little one" is 18 lbs and the "big One" is 23 lbs. they still swing easily... I will say that a HUGE plus on the Rainforest swing is that you can plug it in... We go through LOTS of batteries on the cradle swing, though my guys like being in it even if it does not swing.

I love my Fisher Price Rain Forest cradle swing and my twins have been using it since birth and I think it goes up to 25lb plus

I have the Fisher Price Aquarium swing and it's great ! It really used to put them to sleep when they were younger. They couldn't lay in it for more than 5 minutes without being lulled to sleep.
It has a reclining position and an upright position. It can swing from side to side or from front to back, whichever you prefer. It has a spinning mobile that the babies loved and it also plays music.
Now they are 7 months old and my son is too big and too active for it. I still put my daughter in it once in a while.

We have the regular old Graco Love n' Hug swing and it has been great.
They offer it in a lot of nice patterns.

Sounds like the Rainforest one is a hit! We have the bouncer and they LOVE that!
