    There is a phenomenal children's museum in my town, and they have interesting quotes up on the walls here and there. This one, from Dr. Spock, really jumped out at me:

    A child loves his play, not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard.

    So, true!! I am a preschool teacher and it is a play based curriculum because that is how kids learn the best at this age. They really need to manipulate things and figure out how things work by playing with them. I hate it when parents think play is "just" play. That is the best thing for them!! It is the basis of all that they will learn in school; math, language, letters, science....just everything!!

    Sorry if that sounded a bit much, I am about to go back to work and have been going through things in my mind to prepare for class as well as parent orientation.

    Anyway, let them have fun is what I say!! :)
