So my twins were refered to physio and occupational therapy when they were in NICU and started going in March of last year. We went weeksly for the longest time and then twice a month, and had two months of only once a month. Then two weeks ago physio decided they wanted to see my little guy once a week again because they were concerned with his muscle tone(I am not sure why as he has always had higher tone so it wasn't like it was something new).

I was absolutely sure 4 months ago that he had CP and that he was never going to crawl or walk but then one day he proved me wrong and crawled and sat up out of the blue all in the same weekend. I was thrilled!! and although he still isn't walking on his own he is getting around the furniture just fine. Up till now physio would never really tell me what they thought except that if it was something really debilitating they would be able to tell by now. Instead I always got the wait and see approach which was extremely frustrating :headbang:

FINALLY this morning when I took him to physio his PT was absolutely thrilled with him and said that he is going to be just fine. That she was thinking all along that was doing certian things just to try and help him correct. He finally showed he what he can all do and it was fantastic. This was the first appointment that he was there without his twin so I am wondering if that made the difference for him being more independent in front of her because I know that we didn't do anything different or work on anything since we saw her two weeks prior when she decided to be concerned again. He has been sick for the last two weeks so he wasn't in the mood to work on PT.

Anyway I just wanted to share this because now we are back to going to PT and OT once a month and I never thought I would see the day. So for all of you out there who keep getting the wait and see answer for your PT and OT's try not to be frustrated. It is hard to see in the moment but they really do start to figure things out and then they really take off. I still think that he may always have a higher tone and be more easily overstimulated but he is learning how to cope with it and adjust to get the things he wants. Right Now I couldn't be any happier

My goodness, that's the best news I've heard all day! I'm so glad your little guy is doing so well. :D "Wait and see" is so frustrating (I always want answers NOW), but sometimes it pays off.

    Enjoy your day! :)
