I enjoy the "Raise Healthy Eaters" blog that follows Ellen Satter's methods (author of Child of Mine, Feeding with Love and Good Sense). This blog has a great article on it today about picky toddler eaters, written from the perspective of the toddler. I thought you might enjoy it too-

I enjoy this blog by a family doctor on how to raise children at the family table. She also follows Ellen Satter's methods - Family Feeding Dynamics Blog

Thanks -- I found both of those reassuring. I liked "Child of Mine" and have tried (with a lot of backsliding) to more or less follow it, but I still have one of the pickiest eaters on the planet, and one who is only slightly better. Amy will at least TRY things now, but almost never decides she likes anything. Sarah will still not try anything. So the main benefit I've gotten from Ellyn Satter so far is that we don't have food battles. I guess that's significant in itself, but I'll feel a lot better when they start eating more things!

I need a lot of reassurances too as my twins are quite thin, and at the opposite end is my HUGE baby, and not having "normal", 50th-percentile-sized kids brings a whole additional level of anxiety to the family table. I'm so thankful I found out about Ellen Satter's books from this site and was able to start with her methods from the beginning. I think not having the battles and not placing "good" or "bad" opinions on their food consumption is a tremendous achievement.
