I had my 33w appointment today.

I've been feeling like my babies have moved positions, and been a teensy bit concerned because even though I'm feeling a lot of movement, I couldn't tell which was which anymore. Before last week, the babies were both transverse (so I could pretty clearly feel upper belly movement=Elanor, lower belly=Ian), but lately, I haven't been feeling much in my lower belly (where my boy was hanging out). One night the middle of last week, it felt like both my babies were going insane--actually, it felt like they were trying to break out through my belly, and since then, I've been feeling like they're in a different position.

My OB palpitated my belly, and felt like she could only find our girl, who felt like she was still transverse. So, she decided to do an ultrasound with a BPP for him, especially, since if he was in the same position, I wasn't feeling him much anymore.

    Turns out...

They've both turned!! Head down!!!!! :a_smil09: So, we had been looking at a pretty sure c-section because the boy's been transverse for months, but now we're going to try for a vaginal delivery-hurrah! The OB thinks at this point, chances are they'll stay in position.

And they're both plenty active. It actually looked to me like they were hitting each other, but the nurse wasn't so sure. I'm definitely feeling both of them quite regularly.

I'm slightly effaced and 1 cm dilated, but she wasn't too concerned. The only real concern--and I don't even know how this happened--is that I lost 3 lbs. in the last two weeks. I've been eating, but it's been harder, especially because they both seem to get wound up at dinner time, and make me feel seasick. I'm going to try to incorporate some higher calorie snacks into my diet--any ideas?--and try to eat more smaller meals during the day.

Ice Cream, Cheese, Nutella, and peanut or almond butter are all things I've eaten to try to gain some weight. Ice cream because, hey, its ice cream and I LOVE it!!!!, the rest of the stuff because you can spread it on crackers or fruit or toast. :) Oh, and if you eat toast or muffins with jelly, put butter on there too. Fat + Calcium + the sugar from the jelly. :)

    Congrats on a great appointment!

Mmmmm!! Thanks for all the food tips. It's funny that this is probably the one time in my life where I need to try to gain weight!

I told my DH the good news, so he took me out to Red Lobster tonight (to celebrate and fatten me up, haha), and then we stopped by the store and got some ice cream and nutella. I love nutella on crepes--haven't had that in so long, and it reminds me of a trip to Paris we took a few years back.

Yay, congrats on the good appt. Thanks for posting this because you give me hope that my babies will still turn! They have been transverse the whole time, and my lower one is killing my hips!!!
