Well we had the girls' 6 month appt. on Thursday and things are still going so great! Alyssa is 17lbs 2oz and Ashley is actually gainging on her sister and is now 15lbs 14oz!! They are also in the 90% for height!!! (AJ~27 1/4 inches AA~26 3/4inches) And if you could see me you would laugh because I am 5'5" (okay maybe 5'4"!!) and I am the tallest person on my side of the family!! LOL But Dh is 6'1" so those babies must have gotten every inch of their Daddy's height!! hehe! (also they are no longer adjusting for prematurity!) I have to add that we ran into a couple that had a baby 1 hour before the girls were born and she weighed 8lbs to my twins' 5lbs..... they are now 3lbs BIGGER than her!! What the.... good ole breast milk I guess. Their growth has kinda' shocked me, not to mention the Pedi who is just astonished everytime we are there! Okay enough gushing (can you tell I am proud of my big girls!?) Anyway besides that they are still working on trying to crawl (which I am dreading mobility!) they can sit up unsupported for a few minutes but still tip over. They are eating veggies and fruits and I am just starting to add those chicken or turkey babyfood dinners today... so we will see how that goes! We have dropped night time cereal feedings because they eat a supper now and with the cereal and breastmilk there was a lot of eating going on at night around here LOL! They are still nursing champs and will NOT take a stinkin' bottle for anything! And now all we have to work on is getting some sleep around here because they still are waking a lot at night and I am just not sure I want to try CIO yet.... how did this work for everyone else? Well thank you all for letting me share!

Great appointment Brianna! I did CIO with Jake at 6 months. He was still waking for a paci up to 10 times a night. :shok: I just couldn't do it anymore. It took only 2 nights with him and he is a awesome sleeper now! Good luck with your decision, I know it's hard.

Wow, that's awesome! Sounds like you're making cream, not milk! :D WTG. Keep up the good work.

About CIO - how often do they wake up at night? Is it only for feedings, or do they try to play? If they just eat (a real feeding, not just "pacifier nursing") and then go back to sleep, I wouldn't try to change anything. If they're doing that, they probably need to eat. If they wake up to socialize, I would just put them back to bed, though.

Oh no they are waking up sometimes as much as every 20-45 minutes!!!! UGH! But then some nights they only wake up every 3-4 hours to eat (rarely these days) I always snuggle them back to sleep... I quit offering the breast everytime. Unless they both wake at the same time then I usually nurse them back to sleep.... but after today (I am having a break down of sorts) I cant do it anymore... we might try CIO tonight! How do I go about it when they wake up??

great appointment! So exciting - we're going for ours next week and i can't wait to have as glowing a report. That 'they're no longer preemies" feeling is so amazing.

Sorry about the night wakings; but ditto on pp; if they're waking up to eat they probably still need it, although w/all the eating that might stop soon. I've found that one of my girls now has a period, sometime between 3 and 5, when she wakes to eat, then hangs out singing to herself for anywhere from five to twenty minutes. It's kind of hysterical....

Hooray for a cream-making mama! (i can't comment on the CIO but look forward to hearing what you do)

Briana, great appt. What wonderful weights! Good luck with CIO. We started about 6 months too. Still have problems sometimes but mostly due to three kids sleeping in the same room and teething.
