I'm looking at the Graco Cargo Booster (5 pt harness that converts to booster) for my van. I need to get 3 seats in the back and cannot afford to buy 3 Radians. I will be taking my girls and the girl I babysit to preschool in the fall and need to fit 3 seats in the back of my van (I already can get 2 up front).

Any pros/cons on this car seat? The twins only weigh 31 and 32 lbs. right now, so they have a ways to go before they are 40 lb and out of the 5 pt. harness. Even the 4+ year old that I watch is only 31 or 32 lbs, so she has awhile too.

I don't think I would hesitate for short trips. We have Graco's in dh's truck because they are rarely in it and when they are it is for very short trips.

We have used one of those with our "bigger" twin for a couple of years now (she's 3 1/2 and weighs around 32-33 lbs) and we've been happy with it. My only complaint is that the straps aren't quite as easy to adjust as Comfort Spot. Its not difficult to adjust the straps, it just not as easy.

Don't go by just the weight but also check the strap heights, they may be too low. Many seats (e.g. 3 in 1, etc.) have very low slots, so even the weight limit is fine, they may have outgrown the seats heightwise. If OK, then go for it, and keep them harnassed as long as you can. Another option would be the Graco Nautilus, up to 65lbs, also 5-point harnass + booster.

Hmmmm....good point about the height of the harness. I think they are at the top of their Marathons right now...or they might have one spot to go. They are tall...75%+ in height. I will have the same problem with Olivia b/c she's 97% for height. Her feet are plowing into the back of the seat right now being rear facing. At 9 months, she was as tall as the twins were at a year and keeps growing! Ha!

I'm looking at this too right now. My concern is how easy it is to get the kids in and out and do the straps twist? I have a big problem with both of these things with our current car seat and that is why I'm looking to buy something new.

Slot heights of Marathon are 17.5". My oldest outgrew the seat just after her 3rd birthday (it's not just length, more torso of course), she is 95%. Slot heights of the Nautilus are 19" (from what I've heard), Radian is 18" but you can go over until the top of their ears reach the top of the seat (or something like that). My oldest is turning 5 in May and still in the seat without problems, still tall.

This is a good site to check: http://www.carseatdata.org/cnt/resources/C...at-Measurements.

According to this site, slot heights of the Cargo are 17", so lower than the Marathon. Then you'd better look into Nautilus. That should probably last until at least their 4th birthday.

    HTH!
