got the go ahead with milk

    Right now the boy get a bottle in the morning and at bedtime..they get a sippy of formula around 2....How should I start mixing in the milk?

    I don't think there is any "right or wrong" way of doing it. I have done both cold turkey, and a slower transition with no problems.

    I agree with Becky, you can do it either way. I did it cold turkey with my oldest two with no problems. With my younger guys they liked it warm so I warmed it less each day until they took it cold.

    Do they drink as much milk as they did formula? It seems like a gas explosion waiting to happen!? Do I give them 3 bottles worth of milk like I did formula?

    I also went cold turkey. I was nervous as heck but one day decided, okay today is the day we do sippies with milk. We never did bottles or formula after that and haven't looked back since. Good luck!

    I heard adding a little vanilla to milk helps in transition.

    Our ped said not to give more then 16oz of milk per day. At first I split that up in three, but quickly went to two bottles/sippies with 8oz each. I guess whichever way works best for you and your babes.

    The only thing that I would worry about with that is that they may not like milk without vanilla, not sure though? Interesting.
