Good toys for flying?

We're taking our first flight with the babies at the end of the month, and I'm getting nervous about it! I've heard that we should bring some new toys that will keep their interest, but I don't know what toys would be good for a plane -- something that will be fun enough for the babies but hopefully won't drive someone sitting next to them crazy! Any suggestions? They'll be almost eight months old.

    Thanks!

I love the rattle socks, you might be able to get them in their size as well. Not the slippers they dont' stay on as well. This way they have socks and a toy. They are entertained forever by making their feet rattle. Also small toys that hook onto your diaper bag. This way they won't get lost -- not like a ball. The Lamaze toys seem to have the most things going on, and they become less bored with them.

All the best with your trip. I've heard that the baby food they serve on planes isn't enough so bring extra. (depends on how long the flight is of course....)

When we flew at that age my girls loved playing with cloth books and receiving blankets (peek a boo). The last time we flew (at 13 months) I found these cute books that are a puppet too (for mom and dad). Those were very entertaining for a little while. GL!

Board books and little toy phones would be great! Also, lots of Puffs or Cheerios, if they are eating them, will keep them busy. Have a great trip!

Thanks! I've never seen those rattle socks, but they sound good -- Katlelyn is a KICKER (we call her our kickita chiquita), so I think they would be good for her! Do you know who sells them?

Sorry I bought mine here in Australia at Toys R Us. They were nice Long socks and stayed on. They are well used now.

Also if you can find smaller toys like say not much bigger than the size of your hand -- it would make it easier to transport. Two kids and big toys -- not good. Hand size, with the crinkle stuff in it and some rings attached and you have yourself a party !!!!

I've seen them at Target in the baby section. Infantino makes some.
