I used to be a first grade teacher until I had my twins. Now, I am a SAHM with my 4 yr old daughter and 1 yr old twins. I would love to do something from home to bring in a little extra spending money. I'm not interested in doing any of the pyramid type gigs, but wondered if any of you had other ideas.

I sell Pampered Chef. Because I needed to be away for some of the time to get a break from home. I work 4-8 hrs per week total and I make enough to fill the gap between my DH income and our expenses. I know there are direct selling companies for every taste. I choose Pampered Chef because every eats, so I feel like I had a bigger market to sell to. I've done it for 3 years now and I love it. PM me if you'd like some more information. Also, a lot of "work at home" jobs that I looked into require you to be able to be quite and uninterupted during the time your working (ie call center, customer service, etc.) I'm not sure how other things work. Good luck.

I considered selling Silpada Jewelry. ONLY because there is no formal presentation. I am hosting a party at my house in June. Basically just a brunch and mimosas and jewelry on display. I think a lot of those girls who sell it do pretty good. Here is the link: http://silpada.com/public/ I think you can work as little or as much as you want and it is probably fun because you just show up at parties with your jewelry and eat and socialize while you work.

Here's a summary of a segment that Good Morning America did on working at home:

I think most of the companies highlighted here will need you to have dedicated time, space, phone line, etc. to work with them so you will have to see if it would work for you. I haven't figured out how I would be able to manage that now.

And, here's a link to other articles you may be interested in:

Good luck on finding something that meets your needs.

I also do Pampered Chef. I love it. Like pp said, it gets me out a few hours a week and I make money. You also work around your schedule. If you have any questions PM me.
