well I was informed I'm being layed off from work for the winter so that ok I guess but I'm not sure how much enemployment is...so I don't know if I will have to get another job or not....if not I'm thrilled cause I can stay home with my babies and not have to miss out on all the cute stuff they do....so I'm happy just everyone keep your fingers crossed that the pay will be enough to get us through.

I hope the pay will be enough! I'm not sure how unemployment works in your state but in PA, you can get it up to 6 months and it is usually 60-70% of your weekly pay. Plus if you can, have them take the taxes out for you, then you won't have to worry about the IRS at the end of the year. I am sorry to hear that you got laid off but I am glad that you will have some extra time with the babies!

My job was eliminated about a year ago, and it takes some adjustment, but I love every day. Some more than others ;) but we're all having so much fun! I hope you get to have as much fun as I am!

I'm with the pp that it really depends on the state. Some are nicer than others. Here in RI, it's 80% of your pay up to a maximum. (I'm not sure how much the max is...) We also have TDI for maternity leave that pays the same rate.

Hopefully unemployment will be enough to get you through. We are transitioning to me being a SAHM and I know how scary it can be.

I'm very much looking forward to it but just worried about the finances......but the man upstairs will provide and he knows what's best

Could you, perhaps, take on sitting for someone else in your home? This way you could still stay with the twins, earn some cash and still collect unemployment.

I'm not sure..but I don't know if I could handle more than just mine they are a full time job in itself .....but I thought about seeing if I could do something at home....

IMO it's good news...I wish I would get laid off! My paid maternity leave ends this week so we're about to try it on one income. I'm hoping to figure out something to do from home, too, b/c I really don't want to leave them yet. Since I'm on maternity leave and my job is being held for me, I can't collect unemployment. GL and enjoy the time with them!

Be wary of those "Work from Home" things. I've heard a lot of bad things about them being scams. I've also heard some of them can be good too. Do a lot of research and never send money to anyone for a "stay at home job".

Hope you find something that works for you. I hope you do.
