Going to try underwear

I want to give the underwear only route a shot. They are in pull ups right now and are so back and forth. I really believe that it is because they can continue to play when we and it doesn't really affect them. They do go to the potty on their own quite often and will go when taken, but they are also wetting and pooping in their pull up. I think they just realize that it can be changed later. We are on the go quite a bit so I need something that will actually hold an accident when/if it happens. Gerber training pants with vinyl pants over? I think I definately need something thicker than regular underwear at first. Suggestions please. I would love to get this started. THANKS

 

I just put mine in regular underwear. When they had pull-ups on they would potty in them because they could. I didn't know how to handle overnight because they would always wake up super wet, dh had suggested one night that we put them in underwear to bed. I thought he was nuts but I agreed and sure enough they have been dry ever since. My girlfirend uses training underwear and will use some kind of plastic type pant to go over them to help contain any leaks.

 

We use underwear only. I do put a pull-up on over her underwear at nap and night time, but will probably discontinue that in the coming days since she has been waking up dry.

We use these. They hold in accidents well (Jess had a reall runny stool in hers yesterday).

 

i WOULD NOT suggest pull ups, i think it confuses them. my dd thought they where big girl panies and did not want to wear REAL ones <_< glad thats over!!! GL

 

I used underwear (hand-me downs or second-hand) and old sweat pants. I wrapped all poopy accidents in a bread bag an tossed them. Still less expensive then pull-ups and they really feel the discomfort. I also let them go bottomless. (We have really old carpeting and a lot of hard-wood floors).

 

I started right away with big girl underwear during the day. I agree that Pull Ups just confuse them. I do use pull ups/diapers at night (we just started pt this week).

I have no idea what I going to do at night because both girls always wake up wet (they have since they were born).
