i always had my snap and go and going to the pedi alone wasn't bad. i would carry their infant carriers into the room and we would be fine.
NOW i dont have the snap and go anymore! what am i going to do! my side by side stroller wont fit in the small room. i can get IN the office and leave my stroller in the waiting room. how am i going to get the kids in the room by myself?

I second this. I use my double stroller and it barely fits if I collapse it slightly (and I do not recommend this). What I would do if I were you is to alert the pedi's office when you make the appointment that you have twins and will need help getting them into the exam room as your double stroller will not fit through their doors. I would remind them when you check in that you will need help carrying your lo's into the exam room and remind them again when you are called into the exam room by asking the nurse if she will assist and carry one of your lo's. Remember, you will probablly still need to place one of your lo's somewhere in the exam room while your other lo is being examined so you might want to consider collapsing the stroller and re-opening it once you are in the exam room so your lo's have a place to wait. Good Luck!

I take the stroller to pedi leave it in the waiting area, and the nurse carries a baby.

If you have a single umbrella stroller, you can put one in there & carry the other. That's what I've done in the past & it works well.

Definitely ask for help from the nurses. I have to take both twins and my 4yo any time we go, so I have no choice but to rely on them at times. We usually get the "fleet" of nurses, esp. for shots. lol

Also, like mentioned, I would tell them your situation when you make your appt...my pedi has a couple of larger rooms and they always make sure one is open for us. I'm surprised you sbs won't fit...seems that, of any place, the doors in a dr's office should be easily accessible for wheelchairs and such.

But, if you don't take the stroller into the exam room, where do you put kid A while you undress kid B or hold kid B for the shots? And vice versa.

I'm going to make the pedi trip all by myself pretty soon and I can't imagine doing it without a stroller the whole time to keep them contained. I have a thin stroller, so I think we will be OK, as long as the nurse holds the door. Their doctor's office (a family practice) has wider doors but does not have doors that open on their own, which is surprising since this is a new building and I'm sure they must have patients in wheelchairs.

Is your ped's office not wheelchair accessible? What kind of stroller do you have?

My combi twin fits anywhere that's wheelchair accessible, they may have bigger rooms available that you can get, if you do as pp's suggested and let them know at your appt that you have twins and need to either bring their stroller in, or have some help.

Our ped's exam rooms are small but once inside I can fit the stroller behind the door, you just can't open the door all the way to the wall.

Once they were out of their infant carriers I did a single umbrella stroller and carried one. The nurses usually helped when they called me back but I at least made it inside by myself:)

I have to go to a new peds office w the boys in Friday .. alone and just thought about this! I think I'll put one in the snugglie and carry the other or get an umbrella stroller. I wonder if you look on .. is it craiglist?! In Canada it's Kijiji, but my stroller.. was like a snap and go at first and now it has the peg seats that fit in it. Maybe you could score something like that on there?!
