MY DH often travels from the east coast to cali for business, I am thinking about joining him on his next trip. I just need a break from things, change of scenery, some nice weather etc. I would bring my twins with me, but would leave my older kids with relatives, I am trying to decide if it's worth it to go.

We would leave Mon. afternoon, so I would be there, tues, wed. and half of thurs. DH wouldnt be around during the day, so I would be hanging out myself, Just taking in the nice (hopefully) weather, my bro lives there, so i might be able to spend time with him, and he would (hopefully) watch the kids one nite, so i could go out to eat.

I dont know if the time diff. would be so bad for the girls, i think that they would sleep when tired and fall into a routine and it's not like they sleep through the nite anyhow.

Any feedback on whether or not a quick trip like this would be worth it, or do you think it's just not worth the effort?

We traveled with our twins at 7 months. It's not too bad because they generally stay in one place and are fairly easy to entertain. It's much easier to travel with them at that age. It just gets harder as they get older (don't want to stay in their seat, cry to get out of the stroller, etc). I'd say go for it. You will be tired, but it IS nice to get a change of scenery. The hard part is loading up all of the stuff you need to take. I think you can rent baby stuff when you arrive? A hotel should have pack n plays.

Northern California or Southern California? I'm in So Cal and our weather is crap this week. But usually it's really nice this time of year!

I always found the time change didn't affect my babies as much as I thought it would, so you might be surprised at how quickly they adjust. The actual travel days would be tiring I'm sure, but overall I think it would be a nice change of pace for you and you should go for it!

We are planning the exact same thing next month. My husband is going on a business trip to where my brother lives so I am going to tag along for the visit. We will be flying with our girls. I'm a little scared about that.. Luckily only a 1hr 1/2 flight. It will be a lot of effort to get everyone organized and bring it all on the trip. I figure it is easier the younger they are. And I do think the change of scenery will be worth it. And I sure wish I was going to California instead of Calgary :)
