Going to a bday party for a 5 year old boy

I forgot to ask his mom when she was on the phone... What should I get a 5 yr old boy?! I have no idea what boys like. My Mom said the more gross the better..

I agree with Jenny but if the mother is someone you consider to be a friend I would hold off on the light saber purchase. My ds also likes Monster Trucks and dinosaurs.

Transformers, trucks, tractors, dinosaurs........books about any of the suggestions made by pp's..........puzzles, the grosser the better hasn't yet been the case with my nephews, who are 6 and 7, but its beginning now.

 

Star Wars and Legos.

 

From my experience--anything with wheels or action figures. Also at that age they like artsy kind of things. Depends on the child

 

Race cars, monster trucks. I would check with the mom about action figures and super hero stuff. Just because the kids like it, it doesn't mean that the parents will approve.

 

sticker books. craft stuff. race track The funny thing is one of my two would be thrilled with the littlist pet shop stuff, because it is animals.

 

Batman, transformers, Speed Racer, and football are the biggest hits in my house right now with my 5 year old.

 

My twins are 5. I ditto what most people said. Also, huge in this house is "spy" stuff. Any kind of pretend spy gear is cool.

 

My 5 year olds are really into listening to books on tape right now. We have several of the Magic Tree House books on CD (Thank you, Wendy's!) They have been listening to them every night before bed. I also downloaded some books on tape from iTunes and burned them onto a CD. A Walkman (my boys love headphones) with a CD of stories might be a great, unique gift. Otherwise, I 2nd what everyone else has suggested! For my boys birthday in August they got a ton of Batman stuff, a Speedracer race track, HULK HANDS - that they adore, transformers, etc...... You really can't go wrong at this age. They love almost anything! My boys are also not into 'gross' stuff, although I'm not sure what that means...........

 

dominos, checkers, chess...

Noam likes to do art projects... there are some with plaster that come in a box...

Balls, kites, Playmobil, Kinex, Lego...

Depends on what your budget is.
