:( I am less than thrilled about this. My OB is concerned that the babies could be born within the next couple of weeks and based on the rapid delivery of my first child, I might not make it to the hospital if I go into labour at home. So, in I go for who knows how long. I am so bummed. He sent me home from my appointment yesterday to make child care arrangements for my toddler and then said to check into the maternity ward. Child care is sorted, so now I have no excuse not to go. I have had 2 steroid injections to help mature the babies' lungs. I really hope they don't make an appearance anytime soon, but if they do, I guess I'll be in the safest place. I am going to miss my little boy so much I can't even stand to think about it. My husband or my inlaws will bring him to visit every day so I'll have that to look forward too. If anyone else was in a similar situation (50% effaced at 29-ish weeks), how long until you delivered?

I don't have any advice or information- just wanted to send hugs and I hope your little ones do well. I'm sure you will miss your little boy and that must be very difficult. I wish you the best!

Im just as scared as you are. :( i cry alot. i think negavtive thoughts.... i try to stay positive for my girls but then again..... im scared for what is coming my way if the twins are born anytime soon! they need to cook a little more! Good luck to you!!!!!!!! you are in my thoughts and prayers. if i get admitted today which i probably will not....but probably will tomorrow....i have a cervical length check and i doubt its any longer........... but keep us updated!

With my first son my water broke at 27 weeks and I was having mild contractions. I went on hospital bedrest immediately and was told that I would deliver within 48hrs. Well, I beat the odds and after 3 weeks on strict bedrest he was born, still very early, but better than 27 weeks. My key to getting through it...stay relaxed and just remember that everyday your babies are growing stronger. You can't worry about what's going on in the outside world. Get lots of books, crossword puzzles, problem solving books, and if the hospital will let you get a DVD player so you can watch your favorite movies. Visitors also helped a ton to help the time go by, and they brought lots of goodies. Just don't be afraid to tell them when you're too tired to have visitors. This is one time it's all about you and those babies! Best of luck to you!

I'm sorry to hear about this, but you're right - the hospital's the safest place to be in now and you'll be taken good care of. Hope the little ones can stay in there a little longer to cook, and hang in there!!

Im at 60% effaced and Im 30 weeks today, no dilation though. I had a speedy birth with my first, but so far, DR doesnt think they are coming anytime soon. I know the thought of staying in the hospital isnt the best, but it is the safest, keep em' cookin! Thinking of you!!!
