It's our first pregnancy since the twins and we have our first u/s tomorrow (I'm about 7.5 weeks). My initial betas were high (12dpo was 104, 14dpo was 400 and 17dpo was 1719) so it will be interesting to see how many are in there! My gut is saying only one, but my mind keeps playing tricks on me and mocking me, saying "what if there are 5??!!" I'm definitely nervous about it and can't wait for tomorrow to get here (yet strangely enough at the same time wish it were still weeks away.) Anyone have some calming words of advice?

Apart from the betas, do you have any reason to believe you may have more than one? Like were you on clomid or anything like that?

If not the odds of it being more than one are very very slim.
I think we all get a little tramatized by our twin pregnancies, I was nervous about having twins again. And so relieved to see only one.

I was really nervous on my last pregnancy, the first one since the twins. I had some bleeding issues so they ran the blood tests on me. My numbers were very high, so I was especially nervous for twisn. (the ob didn't want to tell me the numbers because of this.) Anyway, obviously we only had one... and aside from the bleeding issues no u/s I had ever gave evidence of vanishing twin or anything. So sometimes the numbers can just be high, who knows.

I didn't even think about it this time around...well, almost not a thought! LOL. But last time around I obsessed over the possibility!

Thanks for all the reassurance! We just got back from our u/s and...

    TWINS AGAIN!!

We were pretty shocked, but SO happy! 2 beautiful babies with 2 beautiful heartbeats! The u/s tech was shocked and said they had never had back-to-back spontaneous twins.

Oh - and no clomid, no fertility drugs - nothing.

Congratulations!! That is pretty cool, best wishes for a healthy twin pregnancy. :)
I wasn't nervous about seeing twins at my first ultrasound, I figured since my girls are ID my chances were really slim anyways.

omg!!! I have my ultrasound next month and that's what I'll be holding my breath to see. I don't think I would mind but it would be CRAZY considering my girls are only 14 months old. Goodluck and I know you will LOVE LOVE when your kids are older and they're all the same age.

Why did you get a beta with a spontaneous pregnancy? And were you charting?? I'm just curious as I've never heard of anyone getting TWO betas w/ a regular pregnancy.

    Congrats again!

    Thanks for the congrats!

ivfbound - We had betas done because they were checking my progesterone and trying to date the pg. We never had betas done with any of the other pg either, but she said they just wanted to see about how far along I was (my cycles go from 30-60 days, so my lmp didn't give them an accurate due date since I didn't o until CD 35.) And they wanted to make sure I didn't need progesterone supplements (I hadn't needed them for my other pg either, but I was happy they were being proactive in case I needed them.)

Congratulations! I have my ultrasound in 2 weeks and we have been wondering what the chances are we have twins again. I guess its possible to have back to back spontaneous twins!
