I feel like I should know the difference since these are babies 6 & 7 AND my second twin pregnancy, but I never had so many BH's this early with any of the others, including the other twins. Sigh....they started like a switch flipped on on Saturday afternoon and I have had several since then. I almost called the Dr on Saturday night because they went on for 6 hours :icon_eek: but I finally got them to stop with water and laying on my left side. But everyday since then, usually mid-afternoon, they start again and I haven't (I don't think) gone over the rule of 5-6 an hour, but I honestly haven't been counting them. I have hardly been doing anything, I stopped picking up the babies and carrying them around and I limit the stairs as well. My uterus feels crabby....like if I sit wrong or if I stand up wrong or do anything that it doesn't like, they start up again.....

Do you think I was right to call? I feel so bad, like I am wasting their time almost, but I don't want babies born this early.

Mine are doing the same thing - for hours and hours - rolling, kicking, doing circus act tricks...all of which after a while make contractions start. It is made worse by walking or doing stairs - instant contractions. After several NSTs and absolutely no other signs of labor, they told me that unless they were 3-5 minutes apart not to worry about it. (Again, assuming I still have no other signs, which I don't.)

The other night I woke up to contractions every 8-10 minutes for two solid hours - low, in my back, and rectum -- I remember thinking, 'ohhh..this is what they meant!'. According to the Drs, they are all still BH if they aren't changing my cervix. (5cm and going nowhere fast.)

This has been going on for about 6 weeks. (I am 37 weeks tomorrow.) They FINALLY scheduled me for Aug 28 (39 weeks!!) today, as it appears that despite all this moving and cramping, they have no intention of coming on their own.

Best of luck and hang in there!

No, no, no Dawn, you did the absolute best thing! That is what they are there for, for you and your concerns! :hug99: :hug99: I think that you can have 10 kids and still not know what's going on since every pregnancy is so very different. I hope that you don't feel guilty for calling and that the doctor puts your mind at ease. :hug99: Update us when you can!

I am home! YAY! I got put on bedrest for the rest of today and tomorrow though until my regular appointment. They also added an US to check cervical length for tomorrow as well. All I am supposed to do until then is lay down and drink tons of water. The NST looked good so that was a relief, although the BH's don't normally start up until later in the afternoon so I didn't expect to see much anyway. Hopefully at tomorrows appointment all will be well. I think it is time to start looking for some help around here since the big kids are heading back to school in about 2 weeks.

Thanks for the positive words and thoughts. :winking0009: I will update after tomorrows appointment as well.

Dawn, I'm SO happy you went and got some relief! :hug99: Good luck at tomorrows appointment. Let us know how it goes. :)

Don't ever worry about calling-it is their job. I have the same problem and have gone in and gotten the rest and hydration speech and the irritable uterus diagnosis. It does get better when I take it easy though. Position change always sets them off though.

    Thanks everyone!

Yes, it is so strange how just moving a certain way, sitting a certain or standing up a certain way sets them off....I have a feeling I may have an irritable uterus as well, just undiagnosed as of yet. I never had any issues with any of the other kids like this. Just hoping that it stays to a minimum so they keep on baking ;)
